I’ve been running a hf 1.5ton jack that’s lived in the jeep for the past 4 years as I’ve lived in an apartment for college. I have now moved into a house and use the stock jack for emergency’s and use the 1.5ton as the garage jack but it has now died on me so I’m in need of a new jack and want to go up in size since it’s not living in the back of the jeep.
There are 3 main jacks I’ve been looking at all that seem to have a tall enough lift height for a jeep since that was a big issue with a smaller jack.
1. The pro eagle Abram’s. https://www.proeagle.com/products/3-ton-shop-jack-abrams at 300 bucks it checks all the boxes of low enough height to work on my wife’s car but also being tall enough for the jeep (bonus has the extension that is bolted to the jack so it won’t tip over like using a 4x4 block of wood does) only thing is it’s still 300 and 370 if I add the extension.
2. The harbor freight badlands. https://www.harborfreight.com/3-ton...xcOjtzVLhCKkJRe7Um9PWczNe6XnwIRBoC9HwQAvD_BwE. At 400 bucks it does comes with the extension but it also has the taller minimum lift height so some cars might be a paint to use it with. Another plus is they go sale often and I can pick it up locally.
3. And 4. hf also has the long reach jack ($269, 24.25 inch lift, https://www.harborfreight.com/3-ton...al-floor-jack-with-rapid-pump-blue-56641.html and a super duty jack ($299, 23 inch lift, https://www.harborfreight.com/3-ton...ck-with-rapid-pump-metallic-purple-70611.html)
They’re both cheaper and if I would never use the extension then why spend more for it.
Curious in what everyone else is using since the skid height of 19inches is the minimum but do yall use the jack for anything higher like rock sliders?

I have and use the HF 3ton jack and use some blocks of 4x4 when i lift the jeep, I use it on car also. If I wanted a dedicated one I would get the HF badlands. I have friends with both and are both doing the job so I would save a few bucks and get the HF

Would the hf badlands be low enough for normal car heights too or would I need another jack to get low enough?

I have the HF 2 ton Daytona. Aluminum and $219 today. Works great under my Porsche 944 turbo, needs blocks for the tall LJ. Except under the axles.

I have one of #2 and two of #4 in my shop. I like #4 way better for in the shop (that's why I have two of them). The shorter minimum height is nice for the Subarus, and it just maneuvers better with swivel casters. The Badlands wheels don't swivel, so you have to drag it around corners. I bought the Badlands because I got a killer deal on it, and it is used on dirt outside the shop when needed there.

I have the purple one 😁 and a block made from a 6x6 does everything I need.

I too have the HF 4 ton. Been using it for 4 years with no issues. I like the extra security of a 4 ton for using it on Ford F150, two tj's, Subaru Forester, and Honda Accord .

You lock the handle at 45° and lift the front wheels to maneuver the badlands. I like it better than my other jacks in that regard. Won’t fit under my car so I guess that’s why I have 5 different floor jacks.

Ya the not fitting under some cars is my big dilemma. That and the badlands increased the price to 400 bucks retail is pretty crazy. I prefer everything on the badlands but it’s minimum height. Thus the pro eagle Abram’s i believe solves that with it being 4in minimum height rather than the badlands at 6in but then I have to deal with another brand rather than hf but I don’t think they warranty jacks anyways so it wouldn’t matter much.

While I am worried about money I am more worried about not needing to buy and store 2 jacks right away. Would rather have one that does it all well but it seems like that’s not the case for most people and having a few jacks is normal and maybe even helpful in a situation.

The Daytona low profile long reach 3 ton fits your requirements the best, but it's not on sale at the moment. Wait for a 25% off coupon or sale.

Or, if you need it now, the Daytona 3 ton, low profile I posted above is a good deal at $150.
