So the factory sub in my center console just stopped working yesterday....
don’t know much about sound systems just need recommendations on a new sub that won’t break the bank and is pretty simple to install just need some sound my Jeep sounds ominously low now.
Anything would be appreciated folks.
-happy Jeep weekend!

https://www.parts-express.com/pyramid-wx65x-6-1-2-white-poly-woofer--290-270?AID=14 I got this a couple months ago. Had good reviews especially for in a Jeep. Did not fit perfect, had to drill some mounting holes. It sounds good and was cheap.

I had the pyramid sub for a while. It does require some cutting inside the sub box to fit but for the money it wasn't bad. Mine lasted about 2 years until it started to collect mold. Know I run these..

But even if you had to replace the pyramid every 2 years $5 a year isn't bad.
These are great but I’m just strapped in the amount I can spend at the moment.
How does the pyramid sound?? Even something a more expensive will work just can’t drop 225+ on it like I would enjoy lol

Pyramid sounds no worse than the stock unit and maybe even a hair better. For $10 it's hard to complain too much.

I was in the same shoes as you when I bought the pyramid and changed the system up years later when I could justify the expense.

@Zaythedad Not hard. Instead of cutting away inside like some are mentioning. I used nuts as spacers and just mounted woofer out a little bit. Had to drill new mounting holes, they did not line up. Other than that it went easy, sounds good for a stock system and was cheap.

Here is a pic of that speaker mounted in the factory sub woofer box inside the center console. Easy to install with a little modification to original enclosure but well within the skills of most. I ended up powering this sub with a dedicated Kicker mono amp.. The sound is better than my ears are capable of hearing. TACH=full]105932[/ATTACH]

Working on this exact kicker sub install right now. Cut away a lot on the inside that may have been in the way, but it is still not "sitting down" all the way. Seems like the tight side (in the picture the bottom side of the speaker is much tighter to the plastic circumference than the top). Wondering if I should put spacers on that bottom side. Do you have anything between the speaker lip and the plastic space it is sitting in? Or is it just the speaker on the housing? - Thanks for any info - I know this is coming in way late, but figured you might remember what you did.
