I know this thread has been silent for 2.5 years, but I'd like to revive it to see if anyone has purchased an ebike since then, particularly one geared more toward road use, as opposed to a mountain bike. My situation is that I will be meeting my young granddaughter at her school and accompanying her back home fairly often. I want to do this on a bike, but the local hills prevent me from doing so on an old-school bike. You see, my knees are toast. X-rays show the left knee is 100% bone-on-bone, and the right knee is at 60%. This makes walking painful, and attempting the hills on a standard bike not something I want to try. So...ebike. Just thought a little dialog on the subject might be interesting, should anyone care to participate. So how 'bout it? Any ebike purchases in the past 2.5 years? Inquiring minds want to know...![]()
Since I posted about the Lectric XP that we got for my wife (still have it, still like it) I have gotten my self a Mokwheel Basalt
It's great and the torque sensor makes for a much more "natural" riding sensation than a cadence sensor.
I've heard the torque sensors being likened to having bionic legs and that's pretty accurate.
The harder you pedal, the more assist it provides.
Hills are not a problem at all.
