Anyone know decent starting shim stack for pinion preload on a non rubicon 44 with 5.13s? I am helping a neighbor. Housing has bearing caps but no used gears to base off of. I did my 44 a year or so ago and have no clue what my stack ended up being. Mainly just looking for a ballpark range. For example, revolution recommends .042 on pinion depth. I have no recollection if my preload stack was something like .05 or .50. Spec is 14-19 inch/lbs iirc but no clue what to start with shim wise.

When I did my 44 with 4.55 gears I used a starting stack of 42 thou as I'd read that was a good place to start with a 44.
I used a Dana R&P set which was marked 0 for depth, and ended with a pinion stack of 43.

Revolution's specs tend to be on the shallow side. It's better to be shallow than too deep. Somewhere around 50 is good.
