Complete Steering and Suspension Refresh

By the end of this thread, these guys will have you talked into 10k in upgrades or a full blown rock crawling rig.

Agreed, stick to your plan of a refresh- mostly bushings and shocks replaced. Maybe tires. I love my built Jeeps but the stock ones that start and go without any hesitation are the best. A dedicated daily driver and a separate trail rig that gets all the money is the way to go in my opinion.

Update:

I ordered Rancho RS5000x shocks (RS55128 for the front, RS55240 for the rear).
I also ordered H&R springs (52107 kit) and new jounce bumpers.

I am going to paint the ranchos before installing them as reviews said the paint chips. I am planning to use bed-liner.

The plan is to complete this refresh by the end of the summer. Track bars, tie rod ends and drag link ends coming next.

Thoughts on the jks, rugged ridge style trackbars that just replace the oem tube with a solid bar retaining the oem tre vs v8 zj tie rod.

Any advice for someone who wants to keep a stock height with 33s?

Going ranch shocks but not sure which spring. All the other bars and ends, im going to refresh with crown or zj

One of the guys on the Genright crew put 37's on his TJ with stock suspension and highline fenders front and rear.

That’s more of a commentary on the GR crew member than whether 37’s can or should be put on a stock suspension, notwithstanding the HiLines.

It’s not possible to keep a stock height with 33’s because the bigger tires lift the Jeep over stock height.
