Recently I’ve been having some trouble with my Jeep
In may I replaced the clutch due to already having the trans on an unrelated issue
I put a duralast (autozone brand) because that’s what I could get at the time
I’m starting to think that was a big mistake
At the time knowing the the flywheel was convex I decided to lightly sand and install the clutch, mind you the flywheel looked very good, I’ve done some clutches where they were in rough shape and this wasn’t one of them
I think I saw one or 2 hot spots total
Either way ive driven about 7000mi on this clutch and I was driving back to school yesterday about a 3 hr drive for me, it would slip all over the place, super frustrating, I got it Home and I drove it the next day and I had no problems drove great like it did all summer I’m at a loss, I just did a 1.25 body lift right before i left because I’m planning a tummy tuck in the future but idk how that could cause the clutch to slip

Which is leading me to believe it has to do with heat which is exposing a problem in the clutch assembly and it gets worse the hotter it gets
I’m thinking the clutch will have to be done again but with a Luk clutch but any advice is welcome

Update

Brand new Luk clutch, pressure plate and flywheel
Given it only has 100 mi on the new clutch I’ve never had this problem with any other clutches I’ve done
But it’s still slipping, not constantly every so often if you let it cool down or if you can get it to stop slipping it works fine for a while
I have a very small rear main leak but I can’t see how that would be even able to effect clutch
I’m in school and I really don’t have the time for this to be a problem

So when you put the Luk in the flywheel was 100% free of oil right? Did you replave the slave/master? Did you fiddle with it all, drain, bleed or, is it possible it got air in the system somehow and the heat of the engine is expanding an air bubbles causing it to put pressure on the T bearing? Does the clutch pedal feel the same hot cold or when its starts to slip? Were you having the slipping issue prior to the first clutch job?

I saw mainly dust inside the bell housing nothing crazy and no signs of any oil that I can see, I have not replaced slave and master yet, I checked it is full but I have not bled it. I did not have the issue before the first clutch job, I even got prob 7000mi on it before it slipped, the pedal feels great and the same whether hot or cold
That’s why I haven’t touched much on the system, I don’t understand how a faulty slave/master system would make it slip at times when it’s hot

I’m having a similar issue. Fine in the morning, a little rough taking off in first but I thought it was because I’m running 33’s with a 2.5 lift. Were you able to fix it? How?
