Brake Lockup

Looking for some pointers on what to look into... Jeep drives fine for awhile but then the brakes start to lock up. First couple times it was both rear brakes. I bled the brakes and it seemed fine (had some air and gunk in there at the rear). Today only one of the rears locked up on a 30min drive. Let it cool, fine. Drive home, one of the fronts started sticking.

Initially I thought maybe rear calipers, but now I'm a bit confused after the front started smoking from the drive home. Maybe a master cylinder issue? It only seems to happen when driving for a while - short trips are no problem.

Sounds like a caliper issue to me, more than one.
My friend had one acting up, on and off like a strange glitch, and then it had enough, i was suffocating from his burning brake pads while driving behind him. Shortly after another one went out, so we replaced all. Jeeps are getting old.

Did this all start out of the blue with no other work being done on any part of the brake system?

Only thing I've done is pads and rotors from you several months back. They work so well it's hard to accelerate or even maintain speed when the brakes act up lol.

Did you do a full flush at that time BEFORE you pushed the caliper pistons in?

I'll add to that, that this did occur once before then as well. I thought maybe the emergency brake wasn't disengaged at the time, but it's very clearly not that as I've avoided using it.

Did you change your soft brake lines?

I honestly can't recall, but I don't think I did.

I'll add to that, that this did occur once before then as well. I thought maybe the emergency brake wasn't disengaged at the time, but it's very clearly not that as I've avoided using it.

Well, in that case you can do some diagnostics or shotgun some parts at it. The fact that it moves around from front to rear and side to side with 1 or 2 parts acting up sorta points at the master being maladjusted. But, that would be pretty consistent and not change. The rear sticking points to the rear brake hose on the control arm having a problem but that generally affects both sides could could affect one if the other is way out of adjustment. The front can be sticking pistons or a collapsed brake hose lining. The way to diagnose the front is when it is dragging, jack up that side and open the bleeder. If it releases the rotor, that is the brake hose or similar, if it doesn't, that is likely a sticking caliper piston.
