Bestop price increases

Ordered a Trektop NX (now the Trektop slantback?) 4WD had it for $100 off
I was just going to get the Bikini top but by the time I bought the header bar and door surrounds it wasn't a ton cheaper
and if it rains I can put the windows in and not have to put the hardtop back on

I see a lot of complaints about the price increase, but who the fuck isn’t raising prices now thanks to“Brandon’s” policies! That said who has come up with creative ways to cover or modify it because I just ordered a new twill replaceatop that I’ve putting off for too long since is was in stock and wasn’t going to get any cheaper. Hook a brother up with some good ideas.

You still need the door surrounds and original header for the Trektop unless you bought the whole kit? Bikini and safari doesn't need the door surrounds but works with or without. Better choice having the entire top though. :)

Just noticed something... the TrekTop NX I had on my JK sat in the door surround in a way that created a rain gutter. They didn't use the factory style plastic tabs that lock the top over the door surrounds. I was hoping this would be the same for the TJ but from pics it looks like that's a no. On my JK I could fold back the sunrider without getting out. Just unclip from the windshield and fold it back. Looks like this is lost on the TJ. The plastic tabs need to be removed like the OE top before the sunrider can be folded back. bummer.

When I take the windows out of my Trek Top, I usually undo those clips and run it like that all summer. Then you can just undo the latches and flip the top back. Doesn't flap when it's closed and with the windows out, I don't notice it being noisier.

As you all know I've been a long term believer in Bestop's quality but in the last two years I have ordered three of their Safari tops, a longer version of the bikini top, and all three were too wide to stay put in the door surround channels. I ended up adding 4-5 screws to each side into where it attaches to the door surrounds to hold it in place.

They used to fit tight as they should. I gave up having them send me replacements under warranty since both replacements had the same problem. I hope yours fits better than mine did.
I’ve had my eyes on their soft top for multiple months now. I went down the rabbit hole again on this yesterday.

Unfortunately, the fitment reviews from angry customers scare me away from paying $750.00 (plus new-price-hike increases). :(

🤷‍♂️ I liked the subtle stitched tag logo better than the large reflective one recently added to the rear above the window.. but now I have 2, ones just a little more in your face than the other.

Is that the twill? If so how do you like the look? I fear the material may look too fancy for my rig.

I’m curious about how easy the frameless top is to pull back/off compared to the roll-back version.

I don’t plan to run with the top on and windows out. It’s typically either all on or all off for me.

Would this still be a good option for me or should I consider the roll back framed version?

Going on all the reviews over the moths of looking at them it seem some are very disappointed because it takes so long to put on and take off while others love it because they just remove the windows and run safari style all summer

They take less than a minute to flip back. I never fully removed mine.

How did you remove the decal and did the removal leave a scar on the window material ?
A hair dryer easily removes it, but the outline is still there. It's only noticeable from very close. I tried to take a picture of it, but it's too light to even show up in a pic.

I had the Trektop on my JK and just ordered one for the TJ. There were two straps that wrapped around the sound bar to keep the top secure when the sunrider is flipped back and everything else is out. Took a few extra minutes to undo. The upside of having multiple configurations, no frame to contend with when fully folder back and ease of taking it completely off made that extra two straps a non-issue.

I removed the sticker as well.. then put one of those stick-figure family stickers over the old spot.. Couldn't tell the old sticker was ever there

I was afraid of that, but it’s good to know. TY Fishtaco
