Beach Jeep Mods

Thanks Chris. I think I'm going to stick with the 4.10's for a while. I know 4.56 is optimal with my set up but will try the 4.10's for the experience. Eventually I'm still going Revolution gears and axles and either ARB or Eaton but that can wait. Maybe!

I hear ya! You'll be fine with the 4.10 gears for a while.

And, the factory lockers are actually quite durable unless you beat the piss out of them.

I read the great responses on your thread for the durability of the lockers. Good stuff

Yeah, it convinced me I probably don't need aftermarket lockers since I don't wheel hard enough to break these. If they ever do break I'll get Eaton lockers, but if not, I'm happy with these ones!

Sears/Craftsmen used to be a best buy. Some of their tools are now sourced off shore. Not sure where these pliers are built. Half my tools are 30 year old Craftsman Tools.

Not some... Almost all of them are now made in China. All of my old Crafstman tools from 15 years ago say made in USA, but the new ones are virtually all made in China. It's unfortunate but true.

Well here they are! 2006 Rubicon Dana 44's

Awesome man, I love what you've done with it so far.

Also, I saw what you got those axles for. Talk about one hell of a deal!

There's a complete set of 2006 Rubicon axles here on CL for $4250, it includes everything needed for a swap. The NV241 is an additional $1500. Glad mine already has them.

Yeah, Kevin got a damn good deal on them. They usually sell for a lot more than that!

I'm doing my SYE/Driveshaft/Control Arms this weekend weather permitting. Anyone have a fluid preference for transfer case?

Drain and refill it with any good brand of ATF, it's not fussy about the exact type of ATF it runs on like the automatic transmission is. If you want a specific ATF recommendation, go for ATF+4.

Cool thanks

Do you have a MML? Looks like you do since the transfer case seems slightly angled down?
Must have because the mounts are pretty high. Might be why I didn't have a lot of vibration with the old driveshaft that was angled higher.

That would make sense. My transfer case isn't angled like that with my 4" lift but that's because I haven't yet put my MML on.

I'm also glad I ordered a replacement chain for transfer case. The old chain was stretched enough to be hitting the case.
