Basket's Build

Nice! Yeah I am hoping it's not too bad to maintain. I see stuff online of people doing like v10/12 and manual swaps on these so it's not like it's impossible. Can't be harder than a mid engine lol, right?

The one weird thing so far is my dad said he needs to put oil it in every now and then... After some googling, apparently it isn't abnormal to burn up to 1L of oil every 1k miles. Seems like a lot to me

Many newer cars have very low tension piston ring to get better fuel mileage . We had a new 02 Golf that in the owners manual said it was normal to use a qt. / 1000 miles . Thankfully the 2.0 didn't use any oil in the 5000 mile oil change . Of course burning oil doesn't do the Cats any favors . Solve one problem and cause 3 new ones.

Yeah seems a little crazy. I'm glad I don't do emissions and don't actually care about cat efficiency but it'll still be super annoying if it whines about it all the time.

Found out last night it has headlights that turn with the steering wheel, so bougie! Actually really nice out here.

Atlas is super butthurt I went jeeping without him and now jumps in my cars when I open the doors, and waits by them whenever he's out of the fence

He's a good boy !

You've obviously never ridden in a topless Jeep with a couple other single "young men" trolling women, while cruising the main drags in some cities and it shows!!

Ahh the days of being young, dumb, and full of c..... :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Are you guys taking turns helicoptering to attract girls like some kind of bird of Paradise??

I admit to nothing!!! One of the great things about being Gen X or older is our actions were very rarely if ever recorded, so we can deny everything an there is no evidence that can prove otherwise...

P.S.
It was kind of surprising how often that strategy actually worked:cool:... These days your A$$ would be getting hauled to jail!

P.S.S.
Your reaction to my comment speaks volumes!!! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Do you need to pull the motor to do timing belts/chains?

That's an Audi 4.2 V8 thing. Not so much the chains, but the guides get brittle. It's not a common German motor design trait. I'm sure there are others but that one is infamous. Good motor on the whole though.

But I looked it up and the very well regarded B58 I6 in modern BMWs ans the Supra also have the chain on the back. I thought I remembered a race shop mention it.
