Basket's Build

Since I already had air tools I haven't been too excited about buying battery powered tools. I have a set of Craftsman battery tools that I can't get batteries or a charger for anymore. The Dewalt was a Xmas gift so I didn't buy them.

But I need to get some battery tools as they would be easier to transport.
Yeah I bought a compressor and was going to buy an air wrench but the first time I used it I realized that wasn't going to be feasible. In a townhouse I just felt terrible for my neighbors running it, it's so loud

I need to spend some money and time on my house lol. I'm tired of it feeling like a college bachelor pad still

What's wrong with that? My house looks like a parts store with all the parts in it & I have a garage I could put them into.

Yes unless you have one of the REALLY quiet compressors I could see it as being a big issue.

Lol! Idk it's just not somewhere I'm super proud of right now. I have more "stuff" than places to be "away" so there's always crap all over and it drives me crazy. Plus, what if I want to invite a girl over?

It's REALLY something... really loud lol. It's not oil-less but it is hobo freight so it's only so good

I use to have a dirt bike parked in my living room when I was in my 20's. I lived in a not so nice area of Tacoma near Ft Lewis, WA so to keep it from getting stolen I would park it in my living room. Made for a great conversation piece when I'd bring a girl home.

I rebuilt ATV engines in my apartment living room. Had the shower in the bathroom setup as a paint booth.

I have impact sockets I bought from harbor freight since I figured they'd actually be strong enough for my hands lol. We'll see if they're actually good impact sockets though...
I've had the same set of HF impacts for years now and I haven't had issues. I'd buy them again at this point if any were to break.

Well I have a garage lol so it's more like my bathroom is shitty and I have no where to put my clothes, clean or dirty so it makes me look like a slob not a gearhead haha

Use your compressor and don't worry about the noise, just be respectful of times of day (don't run it at night or early morning). You can also build an insulated surround for the compressor to cut down on the noise. My neighbors don't care to run all their lawn equipment when I am trying to enjoy a beer in my backyard on the weekend, and all their contractors don't care about getting early morning starts during the week. It is part of living in a close quarters community, just be respectful of times. If someone complains about your compressor running for 60 seconds while it recovers the tank between the hours of 8am and 8pm they need to move to the country.

I guess that is true. I don't wanna be "that neighbor" but you're right, mine don't seem to give a shit about having parties in their driveways or letting their dogs bark for hours straight or etc. Maybe I'm overthinking it. Not like they're my friends, anyways

I had an engineering manager that invited me to his house (can't remember why), but when I entered, there was a motor out of Porsche 911 tore down in the living room, a harley parked in the dining room, one room was surrounded in plastic (I can't remember why but I remember thinking "Dexter"), and in his kitchen was a Pop Machine full of beer (not pushed to the side, but in the middle of the kitchen).

We sat on his back porch and tried to finish what was in the pop machine while he told us stories of the "good old days".

Don't even get me started on the dogs. We just had a family move in from California (yes they are escaping to Arkansas and Tennessee as well as Arizona and Texas) and they are one street over and their dog never shuts up. If it bothers me one street over, I really feel bad for their immediate neighbors.

Shut Up

That is definitely cooler than the crap laying around my house lol

Yep yep all day every day. It always seems to be the little yappy dogs too of course. They bark so long so often they have hoarse barks, it'd be sad if it wasn't so annoying. I have to wear headphones or have music playing 24/7 in my house because it's either the music or the dogs...

Aw yeah today was a good day, finally drove the Jeep again. Got the rear brake lines replaced and bled, and then installed the JKS front track bar and centered the axle. It's finally alive again!

Look at this thing, outside of it's natural habitat, the garage. Those tires are starting to look a little small on it

Now to center the steering wheel and install the sport bar speakers and I am ready for tomorrow

Speakers are in... One side looks halfway decent:

Then the zipper broke and the other side looks like crap:

I won't be able to fix that til I get the hardtop off so looking forward to it being ghetto rigged for TJ Fest! At least it sounds good

Bill Moore Lake was a bust. Still sooo much snow, we didn't get far at all. Took a nice hike up the snowy road and it was still a good time but maybe an hour of wheeling.

Gotta say my buddies 4runner looks a lot cooler than my TJ. My tires just look so tiny at this point!

Stopped at tommy knockers brewery on the way home. Surprisingly good food for being a brewery, they have gruyere from somewhere and seem to slap it on everything... The jalapeno poppers, Mac and cheese, grilled cheese... Or maybe we just ordered a lot of cheese.

Happy to say the jeep did well, didn't hear any weird clunks, no vibrations on the highway up to probably 80mph 🤫

Hey you got out in your rig and that is what matters. How do the new speakers sound?
They sound really good, a little uneven with the stock front speakers but it's nice to have music on the highway.

There is a bit of a whine coming out of them, it seems to be dependent on HVAC and RPM. Max HVAC fan and low RPM on the trail, no whine. High RPM on the highway, and it goes up/down with the HVAC fan. Doesn't go away completely with the HVAC off. I'm thinking it might be the ground?
