Hi Guys,
I just finished rebuilding a 2002 TJ motor to swap into my '99 TJ. There are a couple of differences in terms of bracketry, engine mounts etc and of course my 99 is a distributor model so have retrofit that to the '02 block. All good so far, but the oil filter is an odd one.
On my '99 block the oil filter is oriented slightly downwards such that the top of the filter clears the engine mount but in the 02 the filter sticks straight out (see photo). This implies the brackets for the engine mounts are different too - does anyone know for sure? I don't have the 02 brackets, just the block and a set of '98 brackets from a Cherokee that don't seem to fit either.
