I went to drive my tj (2004, 140k, 4.0, AT) the other day and immediately noticed it was driving odd. It was real sluggish with low rpm’s and rev‘d pretty high around 45-50 mph. I now know it is stuck in limp mode. I checked the transmission fluid and it was clean and a little low but not below the threshold. My OBD reader showed nothing but the key turn trick showed a P0700 which I know is a generic transmission code. I’ll try to get codes tomorrow (sunday) so not sure I’ll have any luck tomorrow. Anyone have any insight on this issue? I will update the post once I find out the transmission codes. If I need a new TCM anyone have any recommendations? I know wranglerfix is highly recommended but unfortunately I am on a tight budget. Any help is appreciated and TIA. I will update this post when I can.

Update: I was never able to get the transmission codes pulled but I went ahead and bought a new TCM and figured if the problem was not solved I could return it. My TJ is shifting great now and no more limp mode! The OD button works as well however the light does not turn on anymore. I guess that part was just a coincidence.
