This showed up today. Definitely paid enough for it so it better cool.
Holy Fan Shroud, Batman! Who makes that?
Superior Radiator. It’s a 6th Gen V8 Camaro fan. Allegedly it’s the best there is.

Last weekend was supposed to be the weekend I worked on the LJ and at least test wiring.
My daily driver Duramax had other plans. It would appear it blew a head gasket. Quite inconvenient timing as my spare vehicles are a 70’s Trans Am that is hundreds of hours of work from being done, and this perfectly fine running LJ that I tore apart. On top of this, repair is likely going to cost what this entire swap costs.
So I continue to work this week in denial on the LJ. I may have to source a beater.
At any rate, I am getting closer to trying to start this. I am close to figuring out the tuning. New injectors are in, drive shafts will likely be in this week.
DAMN......
I don't wish that on anyone... Hope it works out...
It won’t, but such is life. Game we play trying to save a buck. I’ve been wanting to get rid of it as I don’t need a diesel. I was planning to get the LJ done then trade it or sell it and get a half ton. Now it seems I may as well build this and have a “bulletproof” diesel truck for all those trailers my 4Runner could technically pull….
While not the same I know all about the trying to save a buck thing... I ended up with a motorhome that needed a rebuilt engine... too bad you ain't closer to CA I know someone with a spare diesel engine...
I'm not up on what you have to do to a bulletproof a Duramax.... Hopefully it isn't $$$$$$$$ but only $$$$...
It will probably be $$$$$ if I pay to have someone do it. I have a friend who must feel bad for me and offer his shop/lift if I want to tackle it myself.

As usual, everything is connected. The Duramax is gone, sold to my buddy that I got the 4.8, SYE, numerous LS parts, and likely an ARB locker from. Time to get focused back on the LJ.
A massive hangup is my lack of understanding of tuning. I have EFILive (largely obsolete compared to HPTuners). From my basically non existent understanding I was good to change from OEM injectors to another year/style OEM injector. While I was somewhat correct, I was very incorrect in one aspect, going return fuel to returnless is a much bigger issue. Perhaps I can figure it out, but it seems I may need to pay for expert assistance which I am currently unsure where to get.
I am basically at the point I need to solve this before I can proceed.
I converted my MR2 to return less, it was essentially plumbing the pump output to a housing with a regulator, returning that back to where the rail used to output, then having 1 line from regulator to the rail. What are you stumped on for this?
Fuel system is already setup for returnless factory Jeep, it’s the LS tuning.
The Jeep turns over, TCC (disengage torque converter when braking) works, every Jeep feature I quickly tried worked.
I need to determine if I switch to HP Tuners (I have EFILive, HPT is significantly more supported). I think I have the tune ready either way. I don’t really see any reason I can’t try to start this once I determine which tuner I want to go with.
I was put roughly 2 weeks behind schedule from truck shopping. A completely awful process.
If it was me I'd go hp tuners. I don't know anyone doing efilive with LS engines really. I've done multiple LS swaps and they have all been either HP tuners or swapped to Holley EFI. But a well supported system makes life a lot easier
