This is in my build thread, but I see guys asking about stereo upgrades so I thought I'd post mine. Just got finished, and it will take longer that you think if you want to do it all right and button it up etc.

I found the amp bracket made for under the steering column online ...and I saw the under the rear seat from @JMT and some others, and read on the double din, I wanted Apple Carplay and I wanted it wireless, so I went with what answered that for me.

So I got a new Head Unit, new front Bezel, a 4 Ch Amp and new wiring and breakers. I put in JBL rear speakers a while ago, and front Polk recently.

Head Unit: Jensen CAR723W with wireless Apple Carplay
4Ch Amp: Alpine KTA-30FW Tough Power Pack
Powered Sub: Rockville SS10P
Front Speakers: Polk Audio DB5252
Rear Sound Bar Speakers: JBL GX6026 (Update 7/1/2025, Crutchfield had Polk DB652 for $79 open box, so I'm replacing the JBL)
Front Amp mount: Taboo Customs TJ Under Steering Bracket
Double Din Bezel: Metra
Amp Power: Skar package with 4awg for rear powered and Crutchfield 8awg amp wiring for front amp.

So I chose a mid priced Double Din from Jensen that had good reviews. My TJ Had a wiring harness plugged in from the Pioneer single din that had been put in by the past owner long ago. I spliced everything in using Posi-Twist for the smaller gauge wires, super easy just twist wire ends and then twist these on.

Larger wires for power I went used shrink crimp etc on the only 2 that needed it going into the Amp harness up front.
I got a nice LEIGESAUDIO 2 way splitter off Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KJZK78G?tag=wranglerorg-20

I used 2 breakers for the Powered Sub and the front Amp that I put on the bottom of the Auxbeam bracket https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KJZK78G?tag=wranglerorg-20

With this head unit I had to bring the gain down as it's amplifying a high output. The Polk sound great, so do the JBL still, but they may get replaced in the future with something that can handle 100w not their 60. They are 6 1/2" speakers, some say don't mismatch because I have the 5 1/4 now up front, but they are component and the tweeter is on the dash, I feel like they match up well. @skrelnik has a lot of radio posts in general, I'm sure his expertise went into my efforts.

Absolutely thunders. I went through a bunch, but Enter Sandman is the one to use for gain setting. It pushes hard. Master of Puppets sounded great, and all the Tool songs I ran through. If it can handle that....I'm good, ha.

Looks like youve amassed the better options from the latest contributions. I tried to get my Rockville self powered 10” under the rear seat, but had to put it on the tailgate. Too big

Smart move with the breakers Vs fuses
Components up front wTweet pods on dash - perfect
Waaaaay better then coaxials pointed at your knees

I tore out the OEM “sub” and put my 4ch Proton amp in the center console

Got a link for tweeter pods??

Suprised you couldn’t get the 10” Rockville under the seat. I essentially had 1x4 boards, actually from a table I took apart to use the top for a cart.
I put 2 in length wise above thr metal bars and under the seat padding. Then ran 2 front to back, and screwed it down. Fits and sounds great.
Only issue, I have a seat cover, and when I zip them, something rattles. I just Velcro the sides and it doesn’t so leave it.
JBL’s are only 60w, I’ll be asking for some 100w for Christmas, even though I probably don’t need them, and might go Polk, although the speaker grill for the Polk 6 1:2 look goofy.
