The only thing missing is 35s!
The bad thing is tires are hard to come by due to Covid. Usually I see tons of 35’s for sale around here. I’ll watch and wait as production creeps up. My 33” Razr’s have 2,000 miles on them, and they’re a great tire.

Thanks for confirming my conclusions today Matt.

I saw on the Fox website that shock fits 3-4 1/2" lifts. No way in check that shock would work on a 3" lift without relocating the mounts!

No, and with the total shock travel, I wouldn’t want less than 4.5”, and no more than 5”.

EDIT: such is the plight of those who don’t or can’t weld.

looks good.

i noticed this yesterday.............i've seen the question about using JK take off springs for cheap TJ replacements. i thought most times the answer was , no. but this box label suggests differently.

Yeah, looks like it’s a direct swap. And did you notice the advertised lift amount? 4 door JKU giving same amount as a TJ and same as an LJ. How can that be? A JKU is heavier than an LJ which is heavier than a TJ. Then they list them as giving 5” on a 2 Door JK. Really odd.

Now I'm curious. Hoping someone can chime in with why this is the case!

I've suspected the front of a jk (JL/JT) isn't significantly heavier than front of a tj despite thier larger proportions. This kinda confirms it

Now that I think about this, years ago I experimented with three different sets of JK coils on my LJ. For the front, there was only a 1" variance between all three, when installed on my LJ. The rears however were a different story. All of those netted 2.5 to 3". Based on that, I think your assumption may be correct, i.e. the weight on the nose isn't dramatically different between a JK and TJ/LJ. (y)

the V6 motor vs the IL6. a lot more plastic up front on the JK?
they turned a good portion of steel fender to plastic flare
probably more integrated bends and less or thinner steel in the structure.

The rear Currie 4” Coils next to the 2” OME. The Currie are soooo loooong. 17 7/8” vs 14 1/2”. The rear Fox Savvy Valved shocks compared to the Rancho 5000X (55241). The Fox are 26 1/4” and the Rancho’s are 23 1/4”. You can see from the pic that my upper perch definitely needs to be re-located. The good news is I only needed to add 1“ more of bump, so I’m at a total of 3” in the rear (2” is already included in the pic, I added another 1” later). The rear 33” has plenty of room and 35’s will be just right. The rear trackbar gets close to the GT crossmember, but I’m good to go. My biggest issue was I had to trim the perches further, even though the Fox’s run can up. The pinion is now at 22.5* and the shaft is at 23* ( overall my harmonic vibes are better, which is a surprise, the front is basically set at 0* difference now). Things are set up for a hard bump on the shocks front and rear. The only interference is the rear trackbar bolt on the axle side is slightly rubbing the Savvy Gas Tank Skid. If I trim 1/8” off the end, it will probably clear. All in all happy. I’ll get back with some numbers. It’s tall.

Funny... Mine looks like that too... Looks like we both skipped leg day! The MCE fenders make it look even taller!

View attachment 259778
Yeah, the MCE’s give that impression. They also provide meaningful clearance. It’s not only the removal of the stock fender lip, but cutting the fender so far back toward the hood ends up giving 1.25” of additional up clearance. Too bad I can’t use any of it with the Fox shocks.

I’ll post some #’s tomorrow. Are your springs giving you right at 4”?
