You mean voilà? 🤣 I like the Latin for rock crawler though. Had to look that up.

Yeah, voila! What’s wrong with me? The other day I was trying to spell segue, as in an entry or introduction to some topic. Now, I’m a good speller. I competed in Middle School, but didn’t study much because it was easy and I liked girls too much, so I didn’t win any awards or anything, but I’m a good speller. Anyway, I could not figure out how to spell segue. Of course, I looked up Segway. It’s a company name. I saw segue and was like, “Hmm…” at dinner time I offered anyone at the table $100 if they could spell segue. After 10 minutes and seven or eight attempts I still had the $100 bill.

No spelling bee champ here. Full disclosure, I had to check that I had voilà right before I posted and I have no idea if Saxum Erepo

is a noun or verb. Also, I know you’re a smart guy and figured the phonetic spelling was humor but its fun to kid around 😀

You live in Warshington so Walla is ok.

Well, looks like you just cut off the whole jeep forum as potential bar bet contenders.

Around that time, my kids got me into snow boarding and haven't looked back. Snow boards are awesome in the trees and on steep powder
Traitor!!! 😉

I’ve been skiing my whole life. Absolutely love it. I tried snowboarding for the first time this past weekend after some friends somehow convinced me to do it. I picked it up quite quickly, and I have to admit that it was pretty darn fun, however, I don’t think I could ever like it more than skiing.

I love snowboarding. It’s getting up from sitting on my butt that kills me. After a day of that I’m toast!

I recently bought Yakima ski/snowboard carrying system on FB for $50. I don’t have or want a rail system on top of my vehicles (don’t want to put the skis way up there where they are almost impossible to reach), but because they mount along the rail, I had to weld up a mounting bracket that allowed me to mount them across two bars on my cargo carrier. This will save some room inside the vehicle when we travel to the mountains (we’re heading to Schweitzer tomorrow!). Snow should be great while we are there. Here’s a couple pics about an hour ago when I test fit everything. Last pic shows the bracket. It’s just square tube inside square tube drilled for quick connect/disconnect with the lower tube the right diameter for the mounts that come with the Yakima.

Not a ton of skiing in nc, but I’ve made 5 trips to beech mountain these pasts two months. I definitely need to figure out a bit of a better situation for skis in my tj for next year…

Yeah, TJ's are small! The cargo carrier is an easy solution with the yakima mounts. I know Harbor Freight has a cheap cargo carrier that is about $60. The yakima mounts I used are one solution, but you could make something else. I have some ideas. The trouble is they are so small! It's actually a little funny how small they are.

I need to go to dinner with you when you offer those kinds of bets...I'd have won that C-note!

You would deserve it!

I’ve got some other hard words, but I can’t say them here! 😏

See you at the bar someday.

Have a good skiing trip. Wish I could join ya but the doctors say NO. At least to me trying to ski like a normal person. I could do the seated type skiing but I wasn't interested in that.

You would try. You’re a warrior. Don’t let anything slow you down friend. Amazing stuff you do!

Got started on the raised body mounts yesterday. I intended to just modify the Savvy C-Bracket, but when you get that far and you’re painting you realize you should just keep going. I finished the passenger side, except putting everything back together. Paint is drying. I had two rear body mount bushings from years ago brand new in my attic stash, so I pulled those for the two mounts in the middle under the door. I could steal the two from the gas tank crossmember too. The least beat up mounts were the two in front of the rear wheels, so I’ll put the shallower bushings on the two behind the front wheels and the center. The Savvy skid was beat up near the frame edge, so I fixed all that so I’ll be ready to re-install. 3 Zavvy 1.25” pucks salvaged for another day.

I’m not happy that my TeraLow 4:1 case is leaking. I sealed that thing with The Right Stuff a year ago and it’s been sound until now. I have no idea why that would happen. The case is protected entirely by the Savvy skid. The mating surfaces in the front and rear of the case have a very narrow spot that is very difficult to seal. I’ve done this 3 times, and I’m getting tired of splitting the case. Looking at an Atlas and D300. I know the Atlas is difficult to fit with a Savvy tuck, so I need to figure that out before doing anything. 🙁 I’m not sure about the fitment of the D300.
