Got the flasher relay installed (super simple, thanks to @DrDmoney) as well as the Octane headlights (thanks for the suggestion @Wildman). These headlights are super white (I may change to normal white) with an amber half halo on each side. They look white until you turn on the turn signal and blink amber. I only connected the outer half halo on each light. The goal was to be legal and minimalist, not drilling the grill. The side marker and the amber turn signal are not the same color, so I am considering changing the side marker to white. I don’t think it’s legal, but I’m not even running a front license plate, so I’m already illegal. I tried to catch a good pic while the turn signal was flashing. It’s pretty cool 😎!

That looks really good. I wonder if you could use the inner half LED's as your running lights? Wonder how that would look?

I think they can be wired up that way. I’m not too excited about Halo’s or Half Angels or whatever these are, so I like that I could wire them just to the turn signals. Works great!

The only thing I don’t like is that the side marker amber color doesn’t match the amber of the turn signal when it flashes. So, I’m going to buy some 3/4” clear lens amber led side markers to replace the two in the side. Hoping the light color will be a better match. After that I’ll call this project a day.

I’ve been touching up the Jeep for days. I’m about finished, but there’s always a little something here or there.

A few months ago I got into a sandy climb I couldn’t get up. As I backed down, I slid toward a tree and eventually fell into it. Sadly, I broke my antenna. Today I finally got a new one along with a spring this time. Before I didn’t think it was necessary to have a spring because I run 2’ firestik antenna and it doesn’t go above the Jeep, but I learned that was not the case.

I had the same thing happen to my first 2 foot fire stick. I was amazed how easily it snapped off. I use the spring now as well and no more problems.

I just ordered Maxxis Razr 33x12.5r15 as my next tire.

So far I've tried:
GY Wrangler MT with Kevlar (31's) - great on rocks and mud, below average in wet conditions on road. Never driven on snow or ice.
Cooper STT Pro (33's) - great on rocks, mud, and street, average in snow, below average on ice.

We'll see how these handle. My main goal is to maintain the great ability on rocks, mud and street, but improve in snow and ice. This is an M+S rated tire. Load range C. There have been some reviews that indicate the sidewall is stiff. My biggest concern is lack of sidewall bulge when airing down. However, this might indicate an above average sidewall toughness, which could be an advantage since I'm no longer running a spare, but I may need to air down to 6-8 to get the kind of tire patch I want offroad. At any rate, building a good list of user experience.

I also ordered some super short valve stems for the new set. I want to keep those away from the rocks.

I like my Razr’s so far. For an aggressive treat they ride well and quiet on the street. Dirt Lifestyle did a very favorable review on the channel, and was one of the primary reasons I tried a set. If I recall correctly, he did say they were not great on the snow.

I've been thru 3 different mud terrains and haven't found a M/T that was good in the snow yet. I'll give you my thoughts on the KO2 in snow next weekend. ;)

I don't think we'll get an above average MT performance in the snow. The Cooper's were actually not bad, as long as you sling them occasionally you can clear the tread. If I could get an average performance out of an MT on snow, I'd be glad. I shouldn't really be complaining though. How many days a year to I drive on snow? IDK, not more than 15-20 days.

The only time I drive in the snow is if I drive to find it. The KM2's actually weren't terrible in the snow, so there's that I guess. The KO2's are my first attempt at an all terrain tire. While I love how quiet they are, the rain performance just seems average to me. I kinda miss the hum of a good mud tire, and it might mask my vibe harmonic, lol! Might try the General Grabber X3 next go around.

As you know, I almost went with the General Grabber X3 and in the 10.5" width. The trails here got the better of me and I went with something more aggressive. I think the X3 sounds like a very good all around tire. I also just like super-aggressive looking tires like the Razr, and now that I'm only putting about 5,000 miles/yr on my Jeep, I can keep them for 3 years, sell them for $400+ and get a new set to stay fresh. The Cooper's only started a varied hum the last couple of months, but I love the constant hum, even though my music usually drowns them out when I'm driving solo. It also drowns out the vibrations from the brown dog MM and savvy transmission mount.

Nice, interested to hear your experience. I was looking at them in a size 32. I thought you were going to wait for the maxxis buy 3 get 1 free?
For the last two or 3 years 4wp has run that sale in February, but I'm not sure they will have the sale this year due to all the craziness lately. Because I wanted to make sure I get the tires before Moab in April, I decided to just pull the trigger. I also wanted to get a little drive time on them before the trip, and a few off-road trips so I know how they perform. I don't want any surprises.

I looked at the 32x11.5's as I was browsing. They looked like a really good deal on Ebay! If I were building another rig, I would aim for a Rubicon with 2+1.25 lift, full tuck, and 32's!
