FWIW, I can fish, but I can’t catch! Never been my strong suit, though I go out with high hopes every time. Done a lot of fishin’. Caught some great Redfish and Kingfish. Sandfish was good. I love catfish and caught more of that than anything. Bass I like to catch, but never very good at it. Takes a lot of time and work to go fishin’, and not much reward for me. If I could only bend your ear for 5 minutes I could tell you some piss poor luck fishing adventures. Some love it. I’d probably die if I had to live off catching fish 🐠. 😂

I use to fish all the time but then they made it so DAMN difficult here in WA.
I've taken my daughter fishing a lot when she was younger but then my leg got to the point I couldn't sit comfortably for hours on a bank. Fish stories are always fun.

When the twins get ready and have the funds we will figure it out and get their rig over here and I'll teach them how to setup gears.
You should be watching for some used TAD's also?? I'd think a TruTrac in the rear and a lunch box locker in the front? Can always add that stuff at a later date but since we're in there already.......

Be fun to learn them how..

Of course, they want an e-locker in the rear, and I’ve convinced them to do a lunchbox in the front. We can do the lunchbox anytime. They’re pretty easy, and can transfer with new ring and pinion. Thanks Rick!

Day 150: the twins got to work on the GTS Mod. We’re going to raise it 1.25”. This will solve the gas tank fill tube being too short after the 1.25” BL. It will also give some added clearance, and we all know “every inch counts.”

They also had two stripped frame nuts that attach the lower bumper, so we tapped it to 1/2-13 and we’re good to go now. Last pic shows that process.

I think this took longer than they expected, but they were fine with it. We’ll finish tomorrow. Well worth the time and effort if all goes well. They really want to do the frame tuck. We have to learn to weld to do that trick. They’re talking about learning. I’m thinking about getting a welder. “We could do so much,” they say.

Hey, can you say more about the filler tube problem after a body lift? Is that always true for any body lift, or was there something particular about yours that led to the problem?

When you do a body lift it lifts the tub off off the frame. The Gas Tank Skid is bolted to the frame and the gas filler tube, of course, is attached to the gas tank. This means a gap between the filler tube and the gas tank now has to be compensated for. If the body lift is small, like maybe 0.5 inches, then it probably will not be a problem, otherwise you have to somehow make up the distance. One way is to loosen the gas filler tube from the gas tank and pull it to get the needed distance. Another way is to lift the Gas Tank Skid. Since the boys also wanted more clearance for capability, we went with the latter option.

I wasn’t home so they started wrapping things up on the gas tank Skid lift. I got home shortly after they started. Free 1.25” clearance! Everything went really smooth and there were big smiles and yelling “Yeah baby! Can’t even see the gas tank skid!”

we used coupler’s to lengthen the gas tank straps so we could hit the 3lb torque spec (🤣). Fuel filler tube and bezel line up now.

Also the stripped bumper frame bolts underneath were successfully tapped to 1/2”-13 and the rear bumper is stout.

Oh man look at this guy, using his sons to enable his future bad ideas
I can’t deny, but I can obsess. Looks bad a—!
They’re the ones sayin, “No dad, no! We can’t afford them and then we’ll have to regear sooner.” They’re not thinking right.
