I hope it makes whatever problems you had, better. All of mine shift like butta, because I have access to spray white lithium grease and I know how to adjust things. To each their own.
Had my linkage pop out on a trail...once. The cable is the only way to go IMO, you will like it.
I never really had a problem . Except a bushing Wearing out. I replaced a couple of them because of a rattle.
Besides no directions and tightening the big lock/jam nuts, everything went Relatively well. We will see over the next few years. But it’s like I told my son, “I just went from 1997 to 2021 4x4 shifter linkage”. Woohoo 🙌
