Sway bar end links from hell

Just purchased new crown sway bar end links for my front. Had to cut both off due to the nuts not tightening up properly. They literally thread all the way past the lock nut material and then spin freely - so once they go on, you have to cut the whole link to get them off. Are these crown end links just a sh$& design with the nuts?

Not looking for a disconnect system, just quality end links that can be torqued on properly.

Manual says 45 on top, 70ftlbs for the t55 bottom bolt. No way you can get near that on top without destroying.

Any help appreciated!!

I believe there should be a metal bushing that goes inside the rubber one. Then you would have something to snug the nut and bolt against.
 
That’s what I’m using. I think the lock nuts may be the problem. Is the metal bushing not included? I cut both links off - hope that’s not something you have to buy and add to the links.
 
Honestly, I'm not sure. I've never bought any. I did a quick search to get a better idea of what you were describing, and was surprised that, in the first image I found, there were no metal bushings in the lower end of the links.
Honestly, I may even be wrong on this. I can't remember if the links have a metal bushing in them, or if the original bolts have a shoulder that fits snug in the bushing.
I'm thinking that either way would be an acceptable way to mount them though, if the factory bolts are gone and you can't locate a bolt with a shoulder like this:

I would find a bolt that fits the hole in the sway bar, then sleeve it with a bushing that fits snug in the rubber sway bar bushing, and make sure you have a nice wide washer for the bolt head to seat against. Either way then, your nut and bolt are only going to sandwich the rubber bushing to a point and then seat.
