Will be dropping my skid system , the diff skids and the tummy tuck from nth degree. Not worried about the standard bolts but Leary that these hex/allen bolts are going to snap. Other than docking everything with PB for a few days any tips? Am I reading right that I’ll have to aupport the drive train? And second question is if I’m re doing the skids (removing any rust, I take it that the jeep won’t be drivable till they are back on, correct?

Connect your trans mount before you put the skid back up.

Antiseize the Allen bolts including the tapered head before reinstalling.

Use penetrating fluid for removal or heat each bolt if you think the will break. Map gas torch works decent. I made a trans support to hold everything up, made life so much easier for doing that task. I ended up building a separate crossmember

Yes support the engine/trans. And that skid is heavy, I use a floor jack to lower it. Also undo the isolators before you lower it.

Yes the two hooks go over the frame then tighten it up to raise the trans mount just off the skid. Makes it much easier

For us non fabricators, we just take a cargo ratchet strap over the frame and under the output on the t-case. Hook the strap hook to the ratchet, crank it tight, works very well.

Think what you can do when your strap to steel welder comes in...
