New soft top won't stay tucked into tub

realizing this is an old thread but I believe the problem is that your soft top frame's check straps are old/stretched or worn out and now too long.

Be warned that these don't have good reviews. seems like poor webbing quality that might not be UV stable. I made my own but might buy a set to get good measurements as I made mine too short using mil spec webbing that is good quality.

I think so. The straps hold the rear soft top bar in place. It looks like your passenger strap is broken and not supporting the bar.

I’m coming back to my post to ask everybody if they know about the sunrider feature because somebody in eBay told me that it’s only the frame that has that Sunrider feature but any soft top you can put it in the sunrider frame.

I understood here in the previous posts that it’s a special soft top for the Sunrider frame.
But in real that for me it doesn’t have sense because a soft top is cloth and it can be fold ,so I don’t understand why a soft may be special for the Sunrider frame and the normal one it can’t be used

My TJ had a traditional, non sunrider OEM top on it when I bought it, which I sold and replaced with an OEM soft top with the sunrider feature.

Both the frame and the top are different. The sunrider top has breaks in the tabs that tuck in above the doors to allow it to fold back cleanly. The standard top did not have these. It may have worked, but would probably eventually ruin the edges of the top above the doors from folding it back.

The sunrider top also has stiffener panels that zip into the rear panels of the top to provide structure. My other OEM top didn't have these.

Thank you so much for your answer, it really help , I’m getting crazy with this

The only part I didn’t understood is the last part about the stiffener panels that zip , I am looking for a second hand top , but here in Spain is not easy at all , and because it is sunrider it’s even more difficult , I’m looking in eBay .

As you say of the tabs, I think this one is sunrider , but I think is a little bit more used that I would like

What do you think

Thanks

The rear panels are hollow, with inner and outer layers and have a zipper on the inside that unzips so the stiffener panels (stiff plastic pieces) can be inserted in between the inner and outer layers of the soft top.

Here are a couple of pictures of what that zipper looks like. It's the one my finger is touching. My thumb is touching the rear window zipper.

The top you're looking at doesn't look like it has those zippers from what I can see.

Without the frame, it will be nearly impossible to tell a sunrider top from a standard top. Even then, I'd recommend speaking with the seller to get details on the top and ask specifically if it's one with the sunrider feature.

Given the challenges you have getting parts, you may want to see if you can get a used standard top cheap enough so you can see if it will work with your frame. If it does, great and if not, you know you'll have to buy the whole package, frame and top, new if you want to keep the sunrider function.

Hello, thanks for your post again and your photos. Now I understand ! so the sunrider Top has the Corner stiffeners, but for example, mine doesn’t have that zippers and is a sunrider , it’s strange ,maybe that’s why my corners are like without shape when it’s open and even closed as I put in the Previous photos

I thought the eBay one was sunrider because of the tabs , that are like two , look

But maybe I am wrong

Hard to say.

I do not know for sure, but because the sunrider was an upgraded feature from the manufacturer, i would assume that any with the sunrider top came with tinted windows since tinted windows are typically considered an upgrade.

I would contact the seller to ask.
