2000 TJ Sport soft top install

Hello I inherited a 2000 Jeep TJ sport. My son wants to put the soft top on it now that its almost getting warm.

My father in law passed away so we do not have his wisdom to help us with all our Jeep questions.

With the soft top there was a kind of Soft top boot piece that clips onto the Jeep. I assume it stays on the jeep at the same time as the top. It seems strange. Not sure how to clip in the back corners at the same time. Or maybe you put it on only if you want.... There are roll up storage places for the back windows. And zippers as well. Like the bottom of the back windows zip onto it. Very strange. And i can not find anything online. yet..

So far we think that maybe you put it on only if you want it. But the windows are riding around in a friends truck so we dont know if they have a clip on the bottom or a zipper.

Any hints would be very welcome. I did learn that we need to find the door surrounds at my mother in laws.
