Hey y’all I’m new here, I’m sorry if I created a thread that’s based on this already but I’ve been itching my brain in this for a minute. I just recently purchased an Auxbeam 6 gang and am currently waiting for it to arrive in the mail. In the meantime I’ve been looking at lighting options and one idea I’ve had are to install rock light. I like to night wheel a lot and thing it’d def help in the long run wether it be offroad, camping, or just pulling into the dark parking spot 😂. but wiring up at least 6-8 rock lights has led me being confused on how I’d wire them up. One of the rock light kits I’m looking up has its own harness that connects all the lights into one, but then connects into its own fuse, relay, and switch. Would I be able to cut the excess wire that connects to said fuse etc and splice it into a single wire that can connect into the Auxbeam control center? I apologize if I made it more confusing than it needed to be but I’ll try to conclude pictures to help me as clear as possible. Let me know if anything in the drawing I provided for the diagram doesn’t work or there’s a better way of doing it. I’m still trying to learn a lot about electrical on vehicles and it can get confusing at times

If you want all the rock lights on at once then wire them up in parallel sans the relay and switch. Run the ground to the chassis, body, battery or Auxbeam ground terminal and the hot wire to the Auxbeam control box switch terminal you want to activate the lights.

I prewired a Rock Light switch on my ash tray-ectomy switch panel but I'm probably swapping it out for something else...reason being most rock lights come with a module for controlling colors, strobe and disco patterns and come with a remote I can stick to the dash.

P.S. A few 3D printing outfits make a similar panel for the Auxbeam.

Wow so it’s gonna be a lot easier than I thought, so my idea of being able to cut the wire before the original rock light kit’s relay, fuse, etc will work then. I can Run the hot wire to the Auxbeam control center, ground to chassis or battery, ensure the lights work and I’m done. In terms of mounting the lights tho what would you end up recommending? I’d hate to try drill a hole anywhere I want a light mounted

Most rock lights like Auxbeam's have a "in" and "out" wire... effectively daisy chaining the lights...both power and ground.

If that's the case you'll have a ground wire you can connect straight to the battery next to the power wire you'll land on the Auxbeam control box.

I'd lay the wires under the Jeep and tape up the lights so you can get a feel for where you want the lights. Once you're satisfied with the position mount up the lights and run and dress the wires. If you need to put holes in metal to run wires make sure you use a grommet.

They make magnetic cable tie holders, too.

If you want to avoid drilling holes for the lights you can make some brackets to screw them to, then put strong magnets on the bracket to fix them to the frame where you want. Mine are "L" shape for use in front and behind the wheels where the frame is sloped and then I've got flat ones for between the wheels where the frame is flat.

I've got the 8 Gang AuxBeam

I've got LED lights that were made to connected end to end so I've only got 4 wires to hook up. 2 positive and 2 negative.

I have the Auxbeam 8 gang panel.

The PO installed a set of rock lights that I am still using. They have their own relay and switch.. and some kind of BT interface to change colors and some other nonsense

I wired them directly to the Auxbeam controller and left the button switch for their power in the on position. They work just fine.

That said, I am planning to replace them with units that have higher output. Since the wiring is there I am planning to just remove the old LEDs and insert new ones leaving the old harness in place.

im actually looking into bullepoint mounting solutions, it mounts onto the top of the dash bezel, they make a bracket that screws into the auxbeam. you can adjust the arm thats connected to it in any position you like its pretty nifty

are those lux o

are those lux's rock lights? ive thought about purchasing 6-8 but its easily $120+ you think 4 would be anough to light up the entire underneath?

If you went custom, you could specify exactly what switches you wanted, where and what size.

do you know about how easy it could to be to reroute those switches if i went with their bracket? or would it be somewhat difficult since its 4 rock switches

I've seen their kits. Some seriously over-engineered hardware.
