I used SEM 17373 Dark slate grey on my half door panels for my 2006. The shades look just a bit off, after much research this was the color I found to be correct. Am I losing my mind, should I have used agate?

I'm not sure what the "interior paint lies" are or if agate is a closer color to what the full door's interior panel is.

I do see a slight difference between the two colors. Not enough that I'd spend time repainting even if I found a closer match.
Yeah I’m not sure I’m going to kill myself over it either, but my OCD is going bonkers.

I almost bought a set of half doors last week, got the guy down to $325, but they were red, and my TJ is stone white. Didn’t feel like painting them.
It’s a labor of love and learning...and that I can’t find silver half doors 🤪

🤬 isn’t that pretty much jet black?
@mrblaine is the authority on this. Hes probably painted as much interior as anyone. Landau Black is the go to. I think its also a honda interior color iirc. Its not jet black tho. Its like the agate. More of a charcoal. Matches almost perfectly.

This should be a sticky someplace. I assume most interiors are agate. "SEM Landau Black = Agate."

I used sem trim black on my flares. Which is jet black almost. But after getting some landau black. I wish i had done all my plastic with it.

I may give the landau a shot, in some light they look good and in others they might as well still be mist grey. I did test it before on a large Rubbermaid lid and it looked like a great match. Live and learn, even with reading on here for what seemed like days.

It is black. Not a shade of black, it is black.

I know. Landau black gets mentioned from time to time. But no thread that clearly states what a match for agate is. Next time post a thread. Worst that can happen is someone linking an older thread.

Plus the search function doesn't work as well as google. Fyi. So guys arent as anal about asking questions that may have already been asked. Unlike any other forum i belong too. Lol. Sometimes u get fried.

I posted a thread about two weeks ago, didn’t get a ton of traffic. When I used the recommendation that someone else had great luck with you saw what I got lol. It’s a shade off, but at the end of the day no one will see it. I may keep doing some research as I have time since the doors haven’t been painted yet.
I have an XJ with an Agate interior. My LJ is dark slate grey. The colors are pretty similar. Link below to a couple of pictures I previously uploaded comparing the two

That is crazy close in colora

I dont think you will notice once the black hardware is on especially if you have rubber mats seat covers soft top, upper door skins, all break up the colour match anyway, if you had rear doors it would be more noticeable.

That is good perspective and I agree. Close enough, sometimes I think this Jeep entered my life to show me that not everything has to be perfect and that’s ok.
