New Tool Day

Here's your chance to own a drill just like Zorba's!

https://www.ebay.com/itm/2664973225...pid=5337789113&customid=&toolid=10001&mkevt=1

My late father bought his in the early 50s for $100 - a LOT of money - and it wasn't new then. He and I have drilled a shit ton of holes with it over the years. I went through it about 10 years ago, repacked the gearbox, cleaned it up, and put a new cord on the thing. This eBay listing was the first I'd seen of this model, but now there's actually several of them on the site - one for everyone!!

No, it’s the guy-who-wears-pants-and-spends-a-LOT-of-time-in-his-shop-making-things mentality. Skirt-wearers who spend all their time in dance class wouldn’t understand. 😉🤣

Grinding sparks up the skirt to the ballsack, there's a thought I never needed to have. Thanks, Scott.

You’ll get there with age. The reason I have 6 grinders is because over 30 years I’ve changed my mind on what I like the best and still have all the old ones. Only 3 are from the last decade.
I had 10, I sold off the 4 Milwaukee corded 5" and 1 old full aluminum case 7" Milwaukee because I had not used them in several years. It was a good trade, I got just enough to buy another M18 battery.

I trade dollars for convenience, every single time.
I use an air carton stapler to close the brake kit shipping boxes. I am annoyed almost to the point of wanting to throw the thing in the trash. They only reason I don't is because I'd be more annoyed worrying that a package might fail.

If I use a conventional air hose, they are heavy, awkward and drag on stuff. If I use a super flex poly air hose, they are convenient at the box table, they are annoying and sucky everywhere else. They don't lay flat, they tangle easily, and never wind up in a place where they should be. I should see if anyone makes a battery version of a stapler.

Anyways I'm not saying it's bad. I'm just in that part of life when you have way more time than money..
That's not a bad place to be. By the time I made it through that and on to having more money than time (especially time left on this earth), my eyes were shot and all my joints ached whenever I worked in the shop. They say, "youth is wasted on the young" for a reason... :ROFLMAO:

Oh I guess I don't know what they go for used. Just new
That one is used in the best sense of the word. I've bought a few of the refurbs by Milwaukee. 99.9% of them are as new. The only way that you will know it is used is the serial number has been altered so it doesn't get the same warranty as new. This one is going to a friend to show them that cords suck.

I wonder if DeWalt has a similar program...
