Basket's Build

Haven't done any jeep work in a while but I am semi-preparing for pre sand hollow stuff. I have a list but I'll keep it secret and build the suspense for now. But I started preparing some sliders I graciously was given by @BVJeep

Solid but spent some time outside

I got a belt sander for this worked really well. Though steel eats through belts.

I'm no Jeremy but it looks acceptable for something designed to drag across rocks

Looks rad! Really looking good Trevor. Super clean. I’d be pumped if those were mine.

Thanks buddy. There are some spots I gouged with the sander and some fluff that collected on the one in back that you can't really see, but a 5' paint job is good enough lol. It will be interesting to see how close this white spray paint is to the jeep white.

I hope it’s close! Looking forward to seeing them installed.

It probably won't be until January or so, I am waiting to have the garage finished so I don't have to work outside.

I haven't done much research on how to install, I am guessing some kind of nutzert + backing plate combo will be the way to go

What type of sliders are those? Is the step portion part of the backing plate?

Good question, no idea. They look kinda like the rugged ridge ones but no logo. I didn't see any markings when I was grinding on them.

Backing plate is the part that goes inside the tub to reinforce it, right? Because it doesn't have that I'd have to make one or find one for sale if I wanted it

I was referring to the portion circled in red. I think the Savvy’s and JCR’s and Fluxor’s have a separate external backing plate. There’s an internal one too that you’re referring to. I was just trying to see if they were like the ones my son had on his TJR before he sold it. Not many good pictures I can quickly find. Look similar though.

Yep that looks like them... The step and flat part are all one piece I believe

An appropriately sized piece of angle iron would work.
