Shocks

Yes...I know...completely dumb question but I am looking to replace the ROUGH country shocks that came on the Jeep when I bought it....yes springs too....one thing at a time.

I am looking for monotubes. I usually go for Fox or Bilstein....but this is a TJ and haven't bought TJ shocks in about 15 years since I had my last TJ. I have used the Rancho 9000s.

Anywho....quality ride and capable off road....moderate at most.....what does everyone recommend. I have Falcons on my JT, they are good.

Just looking for actual input from real users.

Black Maxes from Skyjacker.

Pair it with an Oro SwayLoc and it's awesome.

Firm but not harsh. Look I know this isn't a Cadillac or even More modern jeep and it will certainly not ride like a JT.....but I am not a fan of rough country at all.

Just curious.....I see the results...not mad, but are the Bilsteins or Fox monotubes not used much on TJs or are they just not necessary for the TJ itself.

No I'm not married to Bilsteins or Fox....I just know from the JKs I have built that they were great....but also different jeep. I have Falcons for the JT but I have not installed them yet....they were second hand....hopefully they are good.

I love my Fox 2.0s on my rear...but I outboarded my shocks. I wouldn't consider spending the money on high end shocks until you've modified the suspension for maximum travel.

Still running Black Maxes up front until I decide what I need to modify.

It depends on what you are doing with the Jeep. If you are going to be driving it on the street then I agree with the Black Max or Rancho's. If you are going to be off roading, then Bilstein or Fox are your best choices.

I have Bilstein's on my TJ, but I only use it on rocks. They perform awesome in this application.
