I am mulling over the idea of installing some Skyjacker M95 shocks that I have lying around into my LJ to make for a softer/smoother ride for an upcoming trip and to use temporarily until I get to cutting the frame to install some custom tuned Foxes. To give some context, in September I am going on my honeymoon in the UP of Michigan exploring many of the forest roads and shorelines and Silver Lake sand dunes for the last 2 nights so there will be a lot of rough road driving for a week and I will be taking my LJ that currently runs Black Maxes that work okay but I have been spoiled by the bolt in Fox Performance resi shocks that I run on the TJ that have amazing ride comfort and can take quite a bit of abuse. I am curious about real world expereinces with the M95 shocks, would they bridge the gap in comfort and performance between the Black Maxes and Fox Performance shocks? I will say I am also not too opposed to borrowing the TJs shocks for the trip as well but I would like to not have to swap shocks 3 times and fart around with bump stops.

Again, these shocks are new and were free, and not a top choice for me but its what I got lying around that might do me better for my needs until I get much better shocks.

Honeymoon...rough roads...

Dude, don't mess around and get that outboard done...

She said she wanted to go to night ride of Silverlake for part of the honeymoon so that was her idea, thats why I put a ring on her!

Wish I had the time to do all that before. But wedding planning and setup has been taking up a lot of time. Over fall and winter I was going to take body off frame, do the shock towers front and rear, LV1/6L80 swap all in one go.

Right. She's picturing a romantic ride...not a teeth shattering adventure.

All about perspective and perception.

I've DJ'd weddings for over twenty years. It's amazing how people get a picture in their head on how they want things. And no matter what they say you've got to get that picture out of their brain, into words and documented on paper so you can deliver what they wanted.

Shockingly she likes the off roading parts of our trips among other things. We go to Silverlake about 3-4 times a year and she pushes for many of thoes trips. She knows exactly what she is getting into. Its a meaningful place to us and we set the wedding date specifically so we could be there for the night ride in mid September.
