I leave the windows out all the time. I was playing with fire,all the oak trees and acorns to feed the damn rodents. I'll look into that spray for engine compartments for sure

Mine is parked near oak trees too, but all my windows were in and they still got in. They made an insulation nest near the manifold and built a nest on the blower motor in my car. That's why I started buying the spray. Walmart has the best price.

I'm almost there with the wiring for my aux battery. There is only one wire where I can't find a suitable one to connect to:

That's the thin, blue wire in the image. It's supposed to go to a positive wire controlled by the cars ignition. I thought easy, just grab it from the cigarette lighter. But the positive wire to the cigarette lighter is always on; it appears to be the negative wire that gets disconnected when I turn the key.
What is the best place to pick? I'm not really a sparky, so it's a challenge. maybe someone can explain it for dummies

How far away is that wiring from the dash column? Is there any other accessories on your jeep that would be hooked up to ignition hot power?

Worked on moving my RV batteries to the interior compartment so they are kept warm since they are LiFePO4.

Then loaded the TJ up for a trip we leave for on Thanksgiving after lunch.

Was getting a thump coming from the rear of tub, so I decided to change body mounts. All but one bolt came out except the drivers rear of door. Bolt snapped. Drilled a 7/16 hole above the broken stub to get penetrant on. Came out with a lot of effort. Looked at all the mounts and the front two looked good, but the one that broke had a gap between the two halves. The two rears of the drivers side had a larger gao and one didn't even look to make contact. The other had three spots that looked like it was hammering, so I'm changing them all.

Fun fact: That is "officially" called "couchant". Maybe because cats like to assume that position on the couch?

My tailpipe was worse than I thought from rarely being driven for the past 6 years. The PO installed a new muffler and tailpipe before I bought it back from him. I need to sand and repaint the frame when winter is over too. I ordered a Walker tailpipe and clamp for $60 shipped.

I routed it through the center console right to the dashboard. I'm getting one of these today:

I hope I can find a suitable fuse for that.

You can use the radio remote power wire in the dash. Most people use that to remote turn on amps and such already and it is fused.
