the OEM driver seat foam still sucked
The perfect combination of unsupportive on the sides and rock hard under your ass.

They're way more comfortable, but they make me sit so high my console is now too low and my right shoulder starts to hurt on long (2+ hour) drives

thats what I said, mine is already too low.

Well hell, this makes me think twice about replacing the originals. I replaced the seat cushions in my classic car and they were taller than the originals and put me much closer to the steering wheel (no my belly did not grow larger). Definitely not as comfortable as before. . Gotta rethink my options now.
I put one of those on mine because the lid was cracked when I bought it. It’s ok, but I’ve noticed on long trips, my elbow feels raw and irritated for some reason. Not sure why, it’s relatively soft and smooth-ish, except for the tread design. Iv’e been thinking for a few years of getting one of the leather ones I’ve seen mentioned on this site but just haven’t done it yet.I'm thinking about putting something like this on it, I bet it would help

It probably isn't an issue with the later models since they have a shorter seat base
I have a hand towel on mine. The sides are tucked under the lid to keep it in place. I installed it to keep my arm from burning on the 120+ degree lid when I get in on hot afternoons.
But it’s a dry heat.
If your foam is compressed you can rehydrate it and plump it back up using a steamer with or without the fabric still on. I’ve used the technique on boat, auto and wheeler foam for years.
Yep,I heard the new foam makes you sit a lot higher,i already feel too tall when I’m driving now
but now I can hit my head on the roll bar
Yeah it does. Comfy, but now I can hit my head on the roll bar. Don't like that
I'm hoping they break in just a little.
I believe mine has a bit, and I might have driven 2k last year.
Dang I think I have at least that much on mine, since I drove it to Moab and back since. If it doesn't flatten out soon I'm going to have to cut the base down and booger weld it back together.
Still worth it though since my back doesn't hurt after driving now, though
