Oil pooling on valve cover

Has anybody else found oil pooling on their valve cover?

Might have a look at the crank vent system. That small plastic line can get carboned up.

IF the two plastic connectors inserted into the valve cover grommets are not obstructed; inspect the condition of the oil filler cap seal.

And the grommets in which the ccvs sit can leak.

I had leaks with about 5-6 plastic oil caps, and all of them eventually broke during removal. No leaks since moving to an aluminum cap that I installed about a year ago.

Blow by forcing oil up through failed PCV/PCV grommet/oil cap?

Or if it was me then it would be me attempting to do a Freiburger pour and dumping oil all over the valve cover.

Ha, a local eatery was known for pouring your drink from about 4 feet above your glass. I thought Id try it with some 5/30, made his mess look small.

This was my issue - old PCV grommet was hard and no longer sealing completely - swapped in a new one up front and all dry now.

I've had both issues at different times so it was easy to diagnose.
