Is there a reason a control arm can't be lengthened by an internal sleeve in the arm? Im stuck with rear lowers that are too short by a couple inches. I dont see why that couple inches can't be added to them.

The control arm is 2"od. 250 wall tube the internal diameter is 1.5" i can cut the arm, sleeve with 1.5 od and weld it.

Its a rough idea. Recipe for death or reasonable option?

Depends on how good you weld and how hard you drive.

I'd probably do it.

Are you damn sure of your measurements?

I'd have it welded, my skills with a welder are about as good as my dance moves. For measurements I'd go eye to eye to match ehat i have now and use the adjustable end if needed to finesse it.

Since you are comparing your welding skills to your dance moves; unless you can dance like Michael Jackson I would recommend you purchase adjustable control arms.
The differentials positioning is dependent upon the strength of the control arms.
How much is your life worth; I wouldn't risk my life trying to save a few $$.
