Basket's Build

Yeah lol the driveway is dark and lined with rocks and I backed off of it. I ordered solar stake lights so I can see in the future 🤣 low cars are fun

I feel your pain - less needing a winch, but back in the day I was backing my 91 Camaro out of our driveway in the winter with about 2" of snow on the ground - got the one rear wheel off the driveway all of 18" into the grass and got stuck....

Lost traction - couldn't go forward or backward - had to get friends to push while I hit the gas to get it to move. Left a nice mud spot (killed all the grass) where the wheel had stopped and spun...

Driveways - America's car killers....

I don't think the driveway was the underlying cause there, FarFire...

You are correct in your assessment. My wife has had a couple of X3s. Nice cars. I do the maintenance which can be complicated due to design and lack of you tube videos (I think very few BMW owners ever open the hood). Parts are expensive too.

edit: If you take it to the dealer for anything, prepare for a shock:ROFLMAO:

Pfft I can't afford a domestic dealership even. It will be interesting to see if it's more or less to maintain vs a truck with 215k miles

Cool. Super low miles and AWD. Might turn out to be a good one👍

Yeah not sure I would've been as interested in RWD. Since my truck and jeep have 215k and the MR2 is.... The MR2, I figured it would be good to have something that is not such high mileage

I would take your Chevy with 315 ,000 over the BMW . That's a very safe bet . ;) I hope it works for you though !

I do need something else to drive while I maintain something with that many miles. Plus who doesn't want to look bougie in a 5 series 😎

Bah! I saw a lifted Merc ML some years back that had a little window sticker.

"Nice Jeep peasant"

The funny part was that the ML was old enough it had probably depreciated to less than my 04 Rubi at the time.

My german car has been pretty reasonable on maintenance and not bad to work on. Often there are multiple OEM options. Usually less than half the mfg price. An engine mount swap took about 15 minutes. A few oddities like having to bleed the brakes every 48mos and removing the side mufflers to change sparks plugs, but that only requires 5 or 6 bolts. The only expensive repair was a failed high pressure fuel pump for it's DFI. Pelican and FCP Euro are handy.

Nice! Yeah I am hoping it's not too bad to maintain. I see stuff online of people doing like v10/12 and manual swaps on these so it's not like it's impossible. Can't be harder than a mid engine lol, right?

The one weird thing so far is my dad said he needs to put oil it in every now and then... After some googling, apparently it isn't abnormal to burn up to 1L of oil every 1k miles. Seems like a lot to me
