Preventative maintenance on new to me Jeep

Welcome, when I bought my TJ most of it was all original, owned by an old man. The first think I did was change the radiator, water pump, thermostat and hoses, Also breaks and break pump. Change of oil/filter, air filter, sparkplugs, belt/belt tensioner. And last differential fluids and gas pump. Always inspect your frame. I'm not saying you have to do everything. But in my experience, the Jeep has never given me any mayor problems. My advice is to try to buy the best quality possible for your budget.

I don't disagree with fundamentals of changing all the key driveline fluids, flushing the brakes.

If you aren't super familiar with the TJ platform, it's not a terrible idea to take it for an inspection at a good mechanic who is. A post purchase inspection I suppose you'd call it. If you told them your priorities ie safety, reliability, comfort, performance, whatever. Then they could probably give you a better list and priorities, rather than us throwing your money at it. Maybe don't mention you plan to do it yourself.

Just sayin.

4x4 Colorado here in Lakewood does free inspections which is nice. They've helped me out a few times then walked me through how to fix it myself

idk if this amounts to anything but the front differential fluid isnt black

Doesn't matter. That fluid is still probably original. Oil breaks down over time. It can look okay but still have compromised lubricity.

An axle can last 300,000 miles, but only if you let it.

Ok. I have a Brown Dog motor mount lift sitting around waiting for me to install along with my body lift so I just need the transmission mount.

I didn't do Brown Dog because my understanding from the forums was they exacerbated vibrations. Correct me if I'm wrong. I did a JKS spacer and the aforementioned anchor engine mounts.

^^^ I bought the Anchor 2882 Transmission Mount based on suggestions here. You might not need a replacement but mine was badly torn plus had one broken support plate stud. I didn't see that tear until lowering the Rubicon Express belly skid but I already had the new Anchor mount ready to install, having noticed the stud - cheap enough proactively at $26+...
