Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ engine mounts

TJ seemed really slow when I was test driving it

TX, 04, Rubicon, 88k miles, dealership, 13k. Search yielded a clean snorkel rig.

Your posted screenshot of rig looks to be the one you are ACTUALLY looking at buying.

Consensus appears to approve of snorkel rig, over the later.

If you know jack about vehicles, I’d go for a civic, with no confusing switches (od off) to worry about. I would definately not entertain the rig you posted unless you’re prepared to be wrenching on it more weekends, than not.

Ok great thank you so much so what size tires are on the snorkel one? Cause those tires look big too.

Yea im getting confused too ha so the snorkel jeep wrangler had 35s on it?

🤣

This one has either 33’s or 35’s. No snorkel. It looks pretty nice. Has some nice parts on it (Genright fenders, Swayloc). I don’t know what you want though. Personal preference friend. Welcome to the jungle.

My 2004 with the same size tires and automatic has no issues at highway speeds. Mine also has 373 gears and not 411's. If possible drive another Wrangler for comparison sake.

Check out your VIN. Never hurts to have a carfax either. If been up north, run away.
There are lots of good TJ's in TX, be patient. Not sure a dealership is best place to buy, be careful.
Also lots of guys on here in TX, am sure one would be glad to help you look at any one you are seriously
considering.

Same for CO or over our way in TN, AL and GA (know that can be far for a road trip)

"NORTHERN JEEP" 20 yrs old Pictured above !!

Don't let a nice looking, nice price, TJ that you like from up north scare you away. This is all BULLSHITOWSKI, because it all has to due with if it was, in the salt ? / snow ? / on the beach? off roaded? , how well it was taken care of & or garaged or not !!! My TJ is 20 years old, it's from up north & I also live near the beach. It has never been off road, it has never been on a beach & it is driven in snow only 3-4 x's a year, then power washed & detailed every time afterwards. Most of the towns i'm usually in don't even use salt, only sand. It's ALWAYS garaged & in many cases ( MOST ) cleaner & better taken care of then a majority of southern or western jeeps !! Don't be fooled that it's a southern or western jeep. Just because a car currently resides in the south or west does NOT mean it was born there. Mine is as clean on the inside & underneath, as she is outside. Bottom line is it needs to be on a lift & checked out. Do not buy anything site unseen based off a sellers creative, detailed sales story. Use your own 2 eyes, your own gut & intuition & go from there !!! If you don't know what your doing, then bring someone with you that does. Just take your time, do your homework & keep asking questions like your doing here.

As far as speed ................. HA HA HA.............. just get used to it. The word jeep & speed should never be used together in the same sentence. They are not fast, and even more sluggish with 4cyl, an automatic, bigger tires & an area that's hilly. After all it's a big, solid, heavy, square box, with a terrible windshield rake near 90 degrees vertically. It's like a big snow plow pushing air, with ZERO aero dynamics. Good luck with your purchase, keep us posted. (y)

Good for you, really. There are of course exceptions to every rule.
He is already in TX or NM, so no reason to waste time on a "northern" TJ,
that might be one in a hundred like yours. (one has to ask why have a jeep: if never off road,
never on the beach, seldom in snow ? Might as well have a minivan !!)
