Anyone have any suggestions on a mounting bracket or something for the 4 pin trailer wiring connector? I'm looking to clean up the mess I currently have and I can't seem to find any mounting brackets or anything for the 4 pin connector. What does everyone do, just let the connector hang under the back somewhere? I've got a steel tire carrier bumper & hitch combo and the wiring was poorly zip tied in place from each tail light. Gonna clean up the wiring and put it in the black flex conduit so it looks nicer.

I see mounting brackets and kits for the 7 pin but I don't think I would be doing enough towing to rewire and switch over to the 7 pin. Although towing anything with even slightly2 significant weight would probably be pretty scary without brakes. Trailer would weigh more than the TJ... I have a 6x10 trailer I use in place of a pickup truck for moving stuff, etc.

Any ideas?

Do a combo 7-pin and 4-pin. This way you can do either type without ever having to rewire.

You'll also want the factory style USCAR harness.

Also if you are towing a trailer that weighs more than the TJ you absolutely need brakes. (And even then I still don't recommend towing a trailer that heavy with a TJ...)

See this thread why:

Great info, thank you. For what I'm using it for currently, I'll keep it simple with the 4 pin. Just watched some crazy videos with folks trying to tow too much....
