Looks like you know what you’re doing. I would disassemble and make sure none of the pins fell over.
So I’m doing this right now on the drivers side. I have 2 caps that I can’t press in far enough to get the snap rings on. I’ve tried so hard that it’s started bending my C-clamp. I greased everything before putting them in and it’s starting to get on my nerves! Any suggestions?

Can’t press enough to expose the groove on this side.
This is a Spicer U Joint 5-760X
Yea. Pull it, remove the cap in question and see if there is a needle bearing lying in the bottom of it. Its VERY easy to do, I managed to do it twice. The second time I knew what it was and bypassed "go"...
Thanks, yeah I already did that and all the pins are good. That was my first thought.
It seems like the inside part of the yoke isn’t perfectly flush because I’m seeing the groove on part of it but not all the way around.
I was able to get one of the two rings in that I couldn’t so I’m fighting this last to get it in.
Is the cap in your first pic in too far?

So a problem you could be having is if you’re sliding one cap all the way it might look like it’s centered, but it’s not and it’s gonna cause the other cap to jam up. Try sliding both caps on going back-and-forth little by little it’s gonna take more time but you’ll for sure get them centered.
On one of the pictures you posted it looks like you went a little too far. I tried to go just far enough to be able to slide the clip in. I didn’t install my clips until after I had both caps installed.
Man, nothing is working.![]()
What about the "other" cap on the opposite side?
Ok, I got it done!
What was the issue?
Nice! How’d you end up getting it to going? I messed one up with myself and had to order another lol
Since this thread is alive again. Which is the correct u-joint for a 2006 LJR rear driveshaft? I ordered the 5-1330X. When the parts arrived I wanted to double check what I ordered. Ended up seeing Denny’s website list the 5-1310 and 5-1330 for the 06 Unlimited Rubicon depending on how I navigate in their site. See yellow highlight in the pictures. I have an email into them to see what they say. Don’t like returning parts or getting into something to realize I have the wrong thing.

Well? Inquiring minds want to know - so we'll know what to do if it happens to us!
