She got a Maytag this time around. Her expensive Samsung washer lived just past the warranty.![]()
Maytag is now just a rebadged Whirlpool. I used to buy Maytag dishwashers as they were better built, but now there's no point.

Samsung appliances suck. Avoid that shit at all cost.
I have a 40 year old kenmore washer dryer set. I keep looking for reasons to replace them, but then I fix one for under 50$ and forget about them for a few more years
I won't have any dishwasher unless it is a Bosch. They are worth the extra money.Maytag is now just a rebadged Whirlpool. I used to buy Maytag dishwashers as they were better built, but now there's no point.
How do you write code like this? If you're gonna insist on bullshit computers controlling everything, at least do it right. Also if you need to open the door after it start a cycle , when you close the door it doesn't resume where it was , it starts at the beginning of the cycle.
I managed to cook the board on a couple month old washing machine just by hitting cancel/stop a couple times to put in a shirt I forgot on the ground. Door finally unlocked and let me put it in. But then it was DOA.
That's another thing I like about the SQ, no fucking door lock. Nanny state bullshit.

DO NOT REPLACE. Just fix. That was my mistake a number of years ago.

There was a Whirlpool dishwasher in this house when we bought it, which means its somewhere north of 8 years old currently - so I'm waiting for it to go Tango Uniform any day now. With that said, it is the BEST dishwasher we've ever owned as far as getting the dishes clean.
BUT
If you open the door mid-cycle, you have to remember press the "play" button before re-closing it. How completely stupid - but at least it doesn't start over!
Our Bosch is the same. If you open you must hit start again. I’ve lost count how many times someone didn’t hit start again and dishes were still dirty the next morning. Happened today.![]()

While we’re here, what about Electrolux washer and dryers?
Ok, the code reader says "all clear", no DTCs whatsoever. As soon as this rain shower passes, I'm gonna walk down to talk to this mechanic my neighbor recommends highly.
I've been thinking about finding a way to incapacitate mine. What a stupid feature, am I gonna fall headfirst into 1' of wet clothes and somehow drown??
Being dumb is such a burden![]()
