Came in on the hook...

Find me an Irishman who says he's wearing skirt... 😳

People *do* like their pet delusions... ;)

As for the washer...

The tub is HUGE. Wife's washing everything right now that isn't nailed down. It *is* a bit noisier than anything we've had in recent memory, the motor sounds very powerful. Scrappers came and took the old one away before I even had this one hooked up.

What we all really want to know is if you put on a show when you "Pulled off at a senior's rest home and called for roadside assistance." 🥳
p.s. My daughter in law just bought a new washer at Lowe's for $700 on sale this morning. Delivery fees and hookup extra.;)

Nope, no costume on hand! Too bad really, I've always enjoyed dancing for the old folks.

Hope your D-I-L's new machine serves her well. The SQ guy told me that a couple or three years ago, LG and Samsung were still "decent", but he doesn't know about "now" and that "everything else is junk". He told me he has had people with 2 or 3 MONTH old "big box store" machines call in with them broken already. :(

We were talking about picking up a commercial Speed Queen but it would be a pain to always keep enough quarters on hand.

Seriously though we are thinking about them as our present GE seems to be on it's last legs. We'd have to have a front loader on a pedestal though.

We have a gum ball machine in our living room, the kids always seem to locate quarters for it. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

I helped a friend out a couple of years ago. She saw water leaking under her new washer. It had been "professionally installed" a few months earlier.

She called the big box store and they charged her big bucks to come out. Service person said the water lines were not tight enough.

Fast forward a few months and she has me take a look...the floor is damp, room smells like mold.

Water line was tightened up so much it broke the brass valve fitting inside the wall.

This necessitated the removal of all the drywall. The flooring, subfloor and a couple of joists needed replacement. Everything got bleached, then Kilz...took a whole weekend to fix the mess left over from professionals.

Many many years ago I redid an entire kitchen because the professional flooring folks stripped the water line into the fridge. The new floor was junk inside six months and the mold was so extensive the entire kitchen needed stripped to the studs. Side hustle flipping kitchens and bathrooms on weekends for some realtor friends.

She got a Maytag this time around. Her expensive Samsung washer lived just past the warranty.

I have a 40 year old kenmore washer dryer set. I keep looking for reasons to replace them, but then I fix one for under 50$ and forget about them for a few more years

Be very aware the new Whirlpool/Kenmore machines suck compared to what they were ! Typically when the $ 300.00 board fails it additionally takes out the 400.00 board . The failures are not uncommon . Also if you need to open the door after it start a cycle , when you close the door it doesn't resume where it was , it starts at the beginning of the cycle.

I managed to cook the board on a couple month old washing machine just by hitting cancel/stop a couple times to put in a shirt I forgot on the ground. Door finally unlocked and let me put it in. But then it was DOA.
