All waiting for our finishers to stop being busy... slackers. As if paying customers take priority over jeep parts. SMH

What’s everyone’s favorite way to seal the holes for the rockers and corners? I’m thinking RTV, but I’m also thinking if I ever had to remove them I’d be hating life.

Touch up the holes 🕳️ with paint.

Treat the aluminum with Shark Hide.

Mine has a lot of nutserts. I can't think of anywhere where that water would go anywhere I would notice or would be trapped.

Maybe I just did a crappy install on the last set I did, it was circa 2001. Water definitely leaks in the circled area on this jeep though, trying to do a little higher quality work on the LJ.

Mine has twice as many in that spot and I have never noticed water getting past the bolts.

Ah, I think my memory is coming back now. My TJ is a Sahara and had a mounting rail that the factory rocker plastic cover mounted on and I never closed up the holes after I drilled out the rivets to install the rockers. That Jeep sat for 11 years so I forgot I had planned to seal those up.

The LJ is a Rubicon so I’ll just make sure if there are any holes from the factory rockers that I close them up.

I get a small tube of the clear silicone for windows from Lowe’s. Cut a small angle on the tip, I mean small like barely a hole. And run a small bead along the edge. Wipe with a rag leaving as little as possible. It gets dirty but it’s hardly noticeable especially if you leave them raw or use shakhide, it helps keep water and mud from getting in nooks and cranny’s.

I think it also depends on your region and how much you drive it in the rain etc. I daily mine and it rains once a day in Fl lol.

I haven’t done this to my passenger side yet and don’t notice leaks so there’s that. My kit has the aluminum block/tub stiffener in that location and once hardware is tightened I don’t think you will notice leaks…
