I know this is a commonly reported issue, but I can't find one with this specific set of circumstances so here we go...

Recently repainted my Jeep (2000), also had to replace the passenger side tail light housing.
Got an OMIX replacement housing, and it is intermittently fast blinking on the right turn signal.
This is a stock style light, not LED.

Sometimes i'll drive around and it works fine, other times it blinks fast. All the lights work fine except for this fast blinking. It's a brand new housing, old harness on the Jeep side, so I put some contact cleaner into the connector, that didn't fix it. Tried a little dielectric grease, that didn't fix it.

I ordered another Omix tail light and tried that, it still blinks fast, so I don't think the unit is bad.

The only difference I notice between the old one, and the new one, is that the factory housing has 2 bulbs, the Omix housing has 3 bulbs, but the connector is the same as are the prongs. I'm guessing the 3rd light on the side lens is something that was added in later years.

Out of ideas here, could anyone enlighten me? Thanks.

when it blinks fast have you checked to see if the brake/tail light works then? I thought the same on my D/S light when intermittently it would blink fast, then got pulled over by a cop who informed my brake light was not working as well.

Replaced both tail lights with the black magic brakes led lights and problem solved.

Yeah the brakes, lights, and emergency flashers all work. It just blinks fast.
