I have tried searching but I cannot find any information on the flares installed on my 97. The previous owner installed what appears to be covers over/on top the factory fender flares to extend them out. Has anyone anyone ever seen something like this and who may have produced them?

I've never heard of this. I'm interested in seeing a pic from below. Sounds like someone bought wider, aftermarket flares and somehow stacked them over the original flares?

Also, welcome to the forum. A fellow 97 owner here. I love your seat fabric. If you don't, sell it to me.

Did the Rubicon come as a two piece fender flare? I have looked at all of the parts diagrams and have only found them as a one piece design.

Appreciate the help!

Standard TJ flares are about 3" wide. Rubicon/Sahara flares are about 4" wide. All are a one piece construction. If your flares are wider, then they are not factory. The rivets are not factory. That thin gasket piece against the paint is not factory.

I am going to take them apart and will take some detailed pictures. They actually do not look bad compared to what I have seen.

Mine are wide also. Definitely aftermarket. Mine need replaced and I'm debating on what to replace them with. I really appreciate not throwing rocks, but I like the look of the factory width flares.
