What did you do to your TJ today?

Had an ownership dispute-

Got that resolved and decided it was time to clean the bartacts once I removed the tenant-

Just had the jeep itch bad and drove it to town to meet and hang out with my wife-

Got caught in a holy pop up
flood and sidewind riding into town - I just grinned and kept driving

Man Bartacts clean easy-

Because it does not sit too high, steers tight, drives straight and scoots good….this jeep is just full on a good time.

I don’t know that it is all that impressive compared to some rigs, but its works well on road and off.

My LJR pal came by the shop-

We met at a Burger King drive through

Man that is a NICE tailgating setup. I don't think I've ever seen a Coleman that nice in the US.

Thanks man… I used to have a $40 butane no name brand one… but it wouldn’t simmer.
Decided to spend a wee bit more money on the Coleman gladiator and I love it.
I’m pretty sure you can get it in the States.

Finally finished up the last piece (3D printing a new center console cubby) of a long process of upgrading the stereo, which like everything else in the truck has 3000 side quests: New head unit, cameras, amp, wiring, heated seats, seat skins, center console cubby that also fixed the loose lid and the frozen floor bolts, new onboard GMRS radio and antenna, lowered seat brackets, and a few other things I am probably missing. Classic "while I in in there" cascade of projects.

Just in time to head out to the Jolly Jeeper's Rally in Tillamook forest next weekend.

More heat less speed, is that flux core? Are you dragging? You really want to run hot enough to see your puddle melt the two base materials before you start seeing the filler building up and feel the need to move, the leading edge of the puddle should be a depressed circle/teardrop with the tail end built up. Pics 3 and 5 look like a good start.

It looks like you're too cold and start moving before you're getting fusion and your weld is sitting on the metal in a lot of those pictures. Some of those pictures I'd guess you're using too much stick out.

Yes, it's flux and I'm dragging. I'm definitely moving too fast, as when I go slower, they look better.

Also doing what you said, I'm starting to move too soon. Fighting the urge to go faster should help. It's been a common theme in critiques and videos, to not rush, to not leave the puddle behind

I'm looking forward to the practice. Thank you for the advice, I appreciate it!!!

Some people are afraid they're going to burn a hole straight through the material so they move too fast. Try slowing down to where you feel like you're gonna burn through it a little and see where that gets ya.

That should let you know how fast/slow you need to move before burning through it and get rid of any fear of it.

Yup, speed of travel is definitely at the top of the list of things to work on. I have loads of time to learn, and we learn from our mistakes and the experience of others, so I'm listening to you guys.

I think the Driverside is slightly longer than the passenger side, I think it looks good, maybe worth taking a measurement to make sure its equal length on each side. Could be the angle of the photo causing an optical illusion though.

I got out and had a doubletake on it. You are right! 0,5mm longer on the driverside! I think its mostly the angle. I’ll fix it another day… 😁

Completed my headliner this morning just before temp neared 100 degrees around 11 am. I've been putting this off. Glad it is finally done.

Two layered insulated and topped with a fabric Velcro liner. I was skeptical of how much this would help, but the cabin seems to stay so much cooler now. I also finally fixed my AC :D

DANG! That's a good idea. I didn't want to glue stuff up there, but using velcro on that sounds like a winner.

Are those just reflective windows shades, or did you find specifically insulative material? Something like this?

Temp here gets well over 100F on sunny days and my roof is black.
