What did you do to your TJ today?

Someone had mentioned they found these “Chinese knockoff” WeatherTech style floor mats. I got a pair from Amazon during Prime Days! I like it.

I really like the fit and finish of the Husky Liners in my TJ. With the BedRug, they fit really tight.

I found it difficult to find a set because of the sound deadening and then the bed rug….. the mats don’t sit properly in the foot well.

Had a big storm blow through last night and flooded some of the roads…. So of course I had to go out and have a nosy…
Sure enough some roads were impossible to get through. Although I found a way through and cooked some lunch.
Bacon mash and a creamy chicken pie…

Today I hunted and killed an angry sparrow. Installed the UCF Skid while I was messing with the driveline. Rotated the horribly worn tires as well. I see no need reason, unless the shifter height bothers me, to install the LoPro trans mount.

Edit: the skid has been sitting under the workbench for at least 2 years now…

Oh yeah. Installed the savvy/novak trans case cable shifter too.

More welding practice, my first time welding pieces together. The morning session was ugly, so I watched some videos, then this is the afternoon session. Progress was made, still far from acceptable...

You're low on heat. Slow down a bit and pay attention to the puddle. Your torch should be about 3/4" from your work. And you should have a 45* tilt to your torch away from the weld. Use a c motion from side of weld to other side of weld. Don't leave the puddle behind.

More heat less speed, is that flux core? Are you dragging? You really want to run hot enough to see your puddle melt the two base materials before you start seeing the filler building up and feel the need to move, the leading edge of the puddle should be a depressed circle/teardrop with the tail end built up. Pics 3 and 5 look like a good start.

It looks like you're too cold and start moving before you're getting fusion and your weld is sitting on the metal in a lot of those pictures. Some of those pictures I'd guess you're using too much stick out.
