Fuel pump, check valve?

Sometimes I get extended crank times with my Jeep, which has been getting worse lately. It also has a hesitation to rev when I first start it. Sometimes it will hesitate under load as well. So today I tested the fuel pressure, and it is a perfect 49 PSI when running. However, I have to turn the key on three times to get it up to 49 PSI before starting it. It's like the fuel pump doesn't want to run when the vehicle isn't running. The pressure also drops immediately to about 5 psi and then gradually down to zero after shutting it off. Is this likely to be my check valve, fuel pump, or something else in the system?

e How can I test for a leaking injector, just pull the fuel rail out and turn the key?

Never had to test one for leaking myself. i'm trying to remember if there is a ball in the fuel line where you disconnect it from the fuel rail, I believe there is. so you should be able to disconnect the line and see it it does the same thing

I have changed the entire fuel pump twice. Each time I do this the problem goes away for like 3 weeks and then extended starts again. Sometime I even have to try to start it three times even before it starts. That would be three check valves that have gone bad. The pump that was in and the two new pumps. Anyone have a clue why?

I have dumped in about 3 treatments of SeaFoam (you could use Naptha but I had the SeaFoam). The check valve has started to seat again and the squirrels start sometimes on the first crank or the second so far. It was taking 3 or 4 key cycles before. I have a new pump but was trying to avoid pulling the tank.

I'm having the exact same symptoms that you describe in your first post of this thread. What kind of pump did you install (the ones that failed in a few weeks)?
