It looks like a great fat cow and her calf, even though the little feller is the parent.

It's momma and her corn fed country boy, that's destined to be a linebacker on a pro football team, only problem is he'll blow his knee out in HS or college or fall for some hottie with spandex creepin' up in between her nether regions and end up living with her and their 3.5 rug rats in a singlewide with a Camaro on blocks out back, say'n I'm gonna fix'er up some day.... yup!!!

Yet another photo that perfectly illustrates the remarkable increase in size of newer vehicles.

I did NOT want to be ducked. I saw the Jeep, there happened to be an empty space beside it, so I parked there.... Did not see all the ducks until I got out to take the picture. Why do they have to spread the duck?

And you are so correct about the increase in vehicle size. I have more of a problem with the price increase....

The predecessor was even smaller... TJs are basically CJ-7s with a plastic dash.....

I had a 1974 CJ5 "Unlimited". Kinda-sorta. The CJ5 grew longer when AMC took over, to get the straight six to fit.

I had a 1974 CJ5 "Unlimited". Kinda-sorta. The CJ5 grew longer when AMC took over, to get the straight six to fit.

Yup. ‘72. I had a ‘71 ‘5 and that bugger was short! Extended the length of the front clip in ‘72 to accommodate the straight 6. But man, that Buick Dauntless Odd-Fire V6 was a sweet mill. It would pull the front wheels off the ground.

Close - that’s a pre ‘70 I think. You can tell by the gas tank under the seat. Went under the bed in ‘70 or ‘71.

But, mine did have the diamond plate!

I had the 11 gallon under the seat & a 15 gallon in the rear. It was a 1967 Park Mark IV model which was the same as my grandfathers... I had a Edelbrock intake & carb on the V-6 plus a HEI ignition. And I'd made a custom OBA mount for a York on it. The Bellview winch had the original dash controls...

I'd done a 3/4 roll in it and smashed the fenders up which is why I'd made flatties out of them.

But I drove it home 4 hours from where I was wheeling at. Good time to look at the dirty side... But make it quick...

My grandfather was a huge part of my LOVE of Jeeps. I've got pictures of me sitting on his Flatty & I learned to drive a stick in his CJ5. I had many a camping trip in that old CJ5. He would take up to go target shooting too. I wanted that old CJ5 too and I've had 3 that were similar to his.
When I'd bought this one I was driving a Suzuki Samurai that was pretty built for the time. And just happened to see this one sitting on a car lot.

BTW those pictures are from Y2K Memorial Day weekend.

When I traded this CJ5 for a Honda CBR1000F I bought my TJ just a few months later.

Or, when pulling a wagon load of soybeans, break the front axle....My best friend had a'65 CJ5 Tuxedo Park with the Dauntless V-6. He was using it to move the wagon when it happened. Unfortunately the Jeep is still in pieces after Steve tore it down to rebuild it and life got in the way....

Yeah, me too. My grandfather taught me to be a gear head. Boats and cars. Wood and metal.

My SIL brought his new to him 78 CJ7 by for me to see. So I had to snap a photo

The only draw back to it for me is that it's the automatic with the quadratrac transfer case. It will never see any off roading so he will be fine.

He plans to lift it 4 inches and do some minor mods to it.

My best friend, Steve bought a Jeep with the Quadratrac for his son Cam. While driving down the road the Quadratrac locked up somehow and sent the Jeep off the side of the road into the ditch.... No injuries or damage other than the transfer case. But the Jeep was gone soon after that.
