What did you do to your TJ today?

How did you route the camera wires through the tailgate?

1. Used the brake light tube and hole

2. Brought it up behind my tool thingy and drilled a hole on the blue cross behind the plastic cover of the hinges. Put the wire trough and filled it with silicone.

3. Wire behind the hinge cover and another small hole on the blue cross in to the back.
Just make sure you have enough length so the wire won’t get damaged while opening the rear.

4. Enters in the back. Filled the hole with silicone and put the fabric back so you don’t see anything.

5. Total route of the wire.

The wheel is leaning on the bumper. But spacers are a good idea! Will do that for extra support.

A lot of the guys on here who have 3D printers made spacers for the rubber snubbers. Others got extra snubbers & cut the rubber down to the added width they needed. If it wasn't such crazy postage I'd send you my old snubbers.

Thanks a lot for offering but that would be too expensive.
I will ask around if someone has a 3D printer around. Otherwise get some new ones at the dealer.

Edit* new there 50,- per set. Let’s find someone with a 3D printer 😝

You can use other things to space them out they just won't look as good. If you do a search on here you might find some other ideas.

Edit: You could make the spacers out of wood if you coat the wood with varnish or paint so it doesn't rot. Get some paint the same color as your Jeep?

Do you not have dirt in Portugal? Other than the dust on the bumper that thing is crazy clean.

If you need the files to print the snubber extensions I've got it somewhere..

We just have a lot of dust as we have 300 days of sunshine a year, not a lot of mud.. I was just thinking of cleaning it again since it is 2 weeks ago 😂😂

Anyway. let me find a guy with a 3D printer first. And then I will message you If it’s not to much trouble. Thanks!

The voltage required to “jump the gap” is dependent upon the resistance of the air in the gap and the shape of the spark plug electrodes. Small, pointed electrodes are conducive to sparking at a lower voltage (think lightning rod) so the plug “fires” every time and emissions are reduced due to no mis-fires (failure of the voltage to jump the gap). They do not produce more power, they just ensure a spark happens every time. In a well maintained engine, a “regular” plug will spark every time, and at a higher voltage than one with pointy electrodes. This does not translate to a power increase if the spark induces complete combustion.

This I know my friend. It was purely sarcasm meant to generate a chuckle! Good info for those who may not be “in the know” though 👍🏻

Replaced rear tailgate with new tailgate and tailgate seal. Replacement is a cheap aftermarket one that required dremmelling to make the key cylinder fit, but will work fine until we can rebuild the OEM one that was rusted out along the bottom. Also cleaned 19 years of grime off the steering wheel.

Ive got one of these to instal too. Mine is bent bad. How is the quality?

That's actually a pretty good price.

Update to my AC fiasco this weekend!

My local shop quoted my $1280 (including labor) for an entire system replacement since the compressor decided to implode and shoot fine metal particles everywhere....

Just poked around and saw thats the price of a full kit from JeepAir... It could be worse.... Going to do it anyways because I cannot live without AC in Texas summer....

Ditto to what @Zorba said. bummer it has to be done but $1200 does sound reasonable to put your A/C back to zero hours/zero miles.
