Since I am almost 100% electrically iliterate, I have a question for the guru's. I recently added a front camera and wired it through a fog lamp switch with an aftermarket rocker with a camera image and I tapped into the orange locker wire to illuminate the new switch when the driving lights are on and everything worked perfectly.

My question is, I am also adding another fog lamp switch to actually turn on a set of KC Daylighter spot beam lights mounted on the A-plr and pre-wired the switch for illumination only (see image) in preparation for the light and harness install but the rocker switch will not light up so wondering if the switch has to be powered as well for the illumination light to turn on even though I have the orange wire tapped? I also plugged the fog lamp switch into the camera harness connector and the switch lights perfectly so thinking the switch needs power since that is the only difference in the circuit.

What he said⬆️

Current flows, driven by the differential in voltage, through a loop. Typically, the simplest form of the loop is from a high voltage (battery +) to your load (the indicator lamp in your switch), through that load, and to a low voltage (battery -). If you don't complete the loop (either on purpose, or by accident), current won't flow, and if current doesn't flow, your load doesn't react (the lamp doesn't light).

Is the purple, black and blue wires simply cut and not attached (ie: unused)?

If so, there is your problem.
